The hole underneath the numberplate area.
This was on Cabs only, and is used to house the LED light for the alarm.

the rear bumper is standard m3 shape n size, think its just how its positioned is makeing it look abnormal lol. look at it in previous pics and youl see. as for the wheels, im doing the 5 lug conversion later and going for the BBS RS split rims with gold centers and the car is going alpine white with black leather interiorSanchez wrote:that rear fg bumper is huge.
What wheels are you going to use? 5 lug?
quite a popular combination but i just love it. and its not like you see it going down the road every day either to be fair

What have you done abou mating the inner arches to the fibreglass and how are you going to weld up that hole between the wing and the windscreen extension
Sorry, I wouldn't usually comment on things like this but it gives the impression people are a little out of their depth when I see massive gaps every which are being glued up with fibreglass.

Hi, yes i am a bit out my depth but im giving it all i can to get this job done, never took on a project before so learning as i go, the inner arches will be cut and f/g onto the backs of the quaters then the whole lot will be f/g again, a f/g arch liner if you may. then the gaps being seen at the bace of the c pillars will be plated then smoothes over to give the correct lines of the m3. i doubble seemed as much as i possibly could on the back end to add as much strength as i could. then tied it in with the f/g quaters to add further strength so hopefully it should be sturdy as owt realy,
might add a boot strut to add maximum strength aswell. i dont mind people questioning my efforts or even offering advice, its all usefull. but i aim to have a high quality finish in the end. but yeah i got a little carried with a cutting disk at times lol.
this weekend coming will e a big turn around for the car if all goes well. stay tuned for more progress

to be strait with you, it is fairly easy, iv got basic knowledge and experiance with cars. no paticular skills, i drive lorrys for a living. and what im doing is done slowly. not got much money to throw at it and spend the occasional weekend on it. the only thing driving the project is the fact i want to drive it asap loltonybtonyb wrote:God you make it look so easy!great work so far fella

Not true, lots of other E30s had this if fitted with the magnetic key alarm.Rav335uk wrote:The hole underneath the numberplate area.

well this is what iv managed to get done today, the rear arches/quaters have been fully bonded and fiberglassed on and blended, next up will be the filler work.

starting to build this area up to match that of the m3 but proving a bit tricky as not got anything to work too appart from picture off google and poor ones of that

think iv got some tweeking to do here

these pictures havent been put up in any particular order so excuse the fact there a bit mixed up. but you get the idea of what iv been doing today.
so what do you think guys?

That might help
I was going to go out and take some similar pics, looks like you've saved me a job
The top of the rear quarter pannel is obviously a different profile to a normal e30, not sure whether it's part of the wings or an additional extension.
If its part of the wing it obviously means there are different parts for cabby and coupe m3s as the cab wing tips suit a standard bootlid profile.
Although, tbh as long as it seals well enough to stop water getting in an looks ok with the boot closed than it doesn't really matter of its not 100% accurate.

thanks guys for the great help. harry_p if youve got a m3 to take pics of, could you still take me some detailed pictures of the boot shut at the top edge of the quaters. and il be extremely gratefull if you could take a coupple of measurements of it. if not then pics will do fine. hopefully my new boot turns up next weekend so will use that to compare fitment when closed. thanks once again the pair of you as it makes my job so much easyer with your help
by the way does anyone know of any m3 rear glass for sale? lol proving a bich to find

heres just a few pictures from other day, i had to alter the fiberglass panel where it met the rear lights as it stood too far out so i made a few cuts and brought it in a bit.... not a pretty picture but nothing a bit of sanding and filler cant fix, then nicely hidden with primer lol. as for the rest of the fiberglass i used round the edge. i didnt mix it strong enough and was still sticky and gooey the next day, so i mixed a strong one to put over the top and hopefully get it to react to the old stuff. seems to have done the trick as its just about set now. but blimey this stuff goes off slowly. doesnt help with how cold it is in the garage.

if you compare it to how stupid it looked in earlyer pictures then i think youl agree it was a must lol
