Have you tried a set??
No
Plenty on here including BadDave have coilovers, and set up right are a better all rounder. :D

Any coilover that is set lower than say 50mm is going to be harder than H&R's and drop hats which is my set up. This is a touch ferm for my liking.

When they are low (i have drven loads through work) they are sh1te imo!!!!

Even top end stuff feels far too hard.

What set up have you got on the boat captain?

thanks for all the input guys, but im afraid either way it wil not stay as it is.

i just dont like the colour and i would love a diamond shwartz black one, so that is what i will do. this will be done by Matt as soon as funds allow.

a nice 2 door leather will be sourced to replace the blue comfort interior, all that i remove from the car can be kept locked away so no issues if it ever needs to be changed back. colour can also be put back with a strip down and respray, but since i wont be selling it that is irelavent

for those sayin buy a Mint Tech I, how many have 5-7k to just splash out? i can honestly say i dont have. so building my own is the next best thing.
Coilovers are sh1te.
have to disagree mate, i have had them on a few of my cars and when set up i find them to be very good, the cabby will have gaz coilovers end of this month and i will use them on this too.

i actualy quite like that :)

the biggest thing is im not a fan of the colour so it will be changed to a colour i like! spoke to Matt today and we are going to sort something out.

If nothing else she needs a Tech I spoiler, some BBS RS's and a suitable drop to suit

Also just had her insured so i will be able to drive her back from Scotland on friday evening :D

...how much would a full glass out respray be out of interest? I'd imagined it being at least £2.5K? :?

Small update on the plans for this:

well my insurance called me this morning to discuss the agreed valuation i had aplied for yesterday when setting up my policy, i used a selection of pics frm Russells ad as pics to prove were required.

anyways after a good chat with the lady dealing with it we came to an agreed value of 3.5k :D

on that note most of you especially Russell will be happy to hear that the chromie will be staying in original form all except a nice set of BBS RS and a minor drop. Any advice on the M tech susspension set up would be much apreciated? what sort of drop would this give and what shocks go with this?

Due to getting it into my head that i want a Tech I Sport build i sadly am going to have to get another e30  Steve (topless) what was the rolling shell you were offering up? any info on it? :)

Nice checked cloth sport interior, much like the one Capri_Rob had in his bronzit turd. Leather is nice, but a mint cloth interior really is cool.

Good luck finding a blue sports cloth interior, especially one in nice condition!

Buy some tatty cloth sports seats and have the trimmed in some nice nappa leather.

Keep the originals mind.

Murphy, Ata has a tidy looking black 325 chrome turd in the for sale section for £600 or so. Surely this is the ideal starting point for your project ? It even has the rare optional green tint glass, none of that bronze nastiness that the peasants roll with ! :)
