you might be right regardes the meeting points of the pipe but what you see in that picture is a dam sight more than what i got from gama motorsport after a 16 week wait so regardless im happyJon_Bmw wrote:Can I go against the grain slightly...![]()
To me, that is not conducive to making decent power. That along with the unequal length manifolds. I know the standard v8 manifolds are less than ideal(in a 5 series!) but I doubt they flow worse than these...
On the plus side they only cost £1500 and there is very limited room in the engine bay, but to comment that they are the best thing since sliced bread is slightly wrong IMO.
What is going on with the interpipe, I can't work out what is happening between the silencer and the flange?
On a more positive note, the 5.0 v8, tell me more!
My v8 touring build..... manifolds and system DONE

Stbaz,
Fair enough. As you say anything is better than nothing!
What you could do in the future is reduce the angle of the bit I circled and increase the single pipe up a few sizes.
Basically use a collector similar to the one they have used to join the primaries to the collector flange. This is a much shallower angle and would aide flow dramatically. But use a bigger collector to allow it to go onto the larger pipe diameter(that runs to the back of the car).
Out of interest, what is the pipe diameter where it runs to the back? OD or ID.

I wish these manifolds where avalible when i was doing mine, I would any day splash £1500 on those instead of trying to make up new manifolds, cars looking great mate, where abouts are you based?
