think the first one might be a little off too making the glass look a little longer than perhaps it will be. Been toying with keeping the pillar and standard touring rear glass with a small filler glass in the gap to the door. Wish i had photoshop and knew how to use it so i could mock a few ideas up

well the pillar wouldnt be cut out whilst last so at least i could knock up a piece of glass and try it to see how it looks before i comit, would probably add the stiffening beams in any case since s50 e30`s especially like going sideways and there is very little strength in the side of these, i pointed out on another thread how the quarter panel moves slightly on a two door when you slam the door
could keep the pillar and use one piece glass which is blacked out where it goes over the pillar......

As a complete aside,the convertable appears to flex mainly around the area of the 'B' post,rear of the door shuts in the cills needed repairs on project cabbie on both sides.

And the interior was tatty.Rear's rubbing didn't like either at high speed

me and a mate are considering doing a 3 door touring so im watching this for good ideas
beardy we have discussed leaving the rear pillar in and blacking it out with a full length piece of glass going over it think it will look good that way and minimal strengthening work needed

well ive got rid of a little more of the rust up front this weekend, and also removed all unwanted bracketry. i still need to do a repair on the offside inner wing where some alarm fitter drilled a few extra holes and didnt protect them at all
i also need to sort the servo location on the bulkhead and repair the jacking point corners and then the bay and outside of the inner arches can be painted ready for the engine swap, will need to thin out the wiring to remove the abs loom as im taking it off but on this car the abs loom is taped into the main loom so i can see that being fun. more pics.

two reasons really malc, mainly to make room for the standard e36 airbox and secondly whilst i could relocate the abs to the battery tray or higher up the inner wing and move the header tank to the battery tray i realised that i have never had the abs cut in on an e30 so it seems like hassle for no reason.
I did a test in the recent snow on my passat where i let the abs try and stop me and then stopped myself using the old fashioned method and i was quicker than the abs.
Dont forget that the E30 for me is a hobby car not a daily driver so whilst it will still get used in poor weather it probably wont be going out in snow and ice.

it should look like the red photoshop job on page 3 but with nogaro centres to the wheels, although im thinking the rear quarter glass might look a little better proportioned on the real thing but if not i have a couple of other ideas floating around the old grey matter.

I'm not really into these 'projects' but as a test of your skill it will be good fun.
You cannot lose the C-pillar dude it looks like a hearse without it.
I've seen a 4-door one with M kit that looks good, the M3 rear arches were fabricated into the rear door and the metal work was epic. Only way forward I think. It's on here somewhere - someone must have the link...
