You may have covered this already but what colour you going for and you going to be doing some seam/stitch welding as well as a weld in cage to the turrets ?

Cheers fellas.. :D

Not original I know, but when they look so damn right on an M3 it had to be done..

They look clean there, but a quick going over of 2 with some Megulairs metal polish had the pad black 8O

Gonna wash the pad and do the final 2 tomorrow hopefully..

Feels a bit wrong getting tarty polishing wheels.. They have been Poorboys sealant'ed also, to make them easier to keep clean (cheers for the tip Dave!) :P

I am hoping it will make it nice and easy to wash em off after use! Fook cleaning them properly everytime I use the thing..

It's getting a full weld in job.. Tying in front and rear struts, inc pickup on the boot floor that could at a later date be turned into a diff pickup.. However as it will see some road use fuck that basically..

Are you offering an M30 anchor to grace Jhonno's engine bay? :chuckle:

I was thinking of using an E36 backplate and tying it into a rear strut/floor brace for mine, will be more useful than a totally solid mounted diff

Go on, solid mount the diff, you know you want to :P

actually, has anyone tried it on a road going e30? My lancias rear diff was solidly attached to the floor with a steel tube diff brace and never seemed to be an issue.
cheers,

No they didn't. Alpina did though didn't they? And to be fair, that's the only time i'd ruin the originality of a rare alpina. A M3 is not the right place for a M30...

Same thing :P Was the Alpina B6 and B6s IIRC. Alpina must have thought it was a good idea :D

:P I stand by my argument. a M30 is a good engine, CHEAP and suites a heavier daily driver better. And is the cheapest way to 210BHP+

a M3 needs to be lightweight or it's pointless. Maybe a S50 would sway me there though... winkeye

Strangely enough.. Despite being ginger and driving a turd with an M30 boat anchor, Gareth is relatively normal :D

Although he is possibly a little out of touch considering the M50 is now also a very cheap swap.. Even an M52 is really..

Gareth.. I'll show you mine when it is done..

So the real question is what tasty bits won't you be transfering over to the M3?

 I'll take that as a compliment... i think?! :)

Remember though, my M30 has been in and running for about 4.5 years and i was buying parts about 5 years ago. M52's were all big money still and i was considerably skinter then also!

I wouldn't bother with a M50 myself, I'd go straight for a M52 as a minimum.

For a track plaything, i'd want a M52 with ITB's etc... so it would make sense to go straight for the S50.

Sorry for going totally off topic :)
