RICHIS:

The lights are just a standard generic 5.75 inch headlight and can be bought a several different outlets , including rally design.
I also still have the omega to e30 mount, gearbox and linkage.

DJK:

Correct mate, did the motorsport engineering and design degree.

UPDATE:

Sorry guys not much progress in the last few weeks, i now have the sump and inlet manifold back from Altiss and the quality is outstanding.

In the process of sourcing a reasonable T5 box, however I weighing up whether to buy an unknown quantity or a £500 rebuilt one?

Also I've mocked up an adaptor to locate the turbo in the right place, now this is finished I'm going back to Altiss for him to fab the manifold.

I'll put up some pictures when i have something worth showing.

cheers

Great stuff, this is going to be such a cool car. I do however share Jhonno's concern over how low that sump is - I trust a sump guard is on the shopping list!?

Agrred guys, sump guard is a must.

I have a friend who worked at the factory where the aston aluminium components were made and as a result have a rather nice Aston Martin DB9 fuel tank shield which i plan to use.

Don't worry guys, progress has been slow because iv started playing with bikes but momentum is growing once more and as we speak an order has been processed with rally design for the charge pipe components..................

That sump looks really low! I think you might have to go dry sump for simplicity.

Looking at it again, I think that sump isn't really viable as it is Dave. If that was on my track car it would probably only be about 30mm of the ground so by the time you've got a sump guard covering it you will have virtually no ground clearance.

Hi Theo, i agree with you, however the fabbed sump isn't as low as the original mock up.

I measured it tonight and i have approx 92mm of ground clearance, so i think it should be cool.

Worst case i will just avoid the curbs through wipperman at the ring :P

WOW ! I am so impressed with your attention to detail and I wish I had your ability !

I wish you hadn't chosen a touring shell though...

I am keeping this thread as one to watch, I can't wait to see it finished!!
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

No big updates yet.

Sump is done , as is the inlet manifold and exhaust manifold.

Bit of a backward step, had to pull the rear beam off to re-underseal the touring after the underseal melted from the welding.

Also I have just bought a m50 touring, which needs a little love (soon to be another thread) and shamefully put the 50% LSD off this touring on to it. It's wrong but open diffs are the worst engineering creation of all time.

My next step is to fit all the Perspex into it, then I'm pulling the motor out to smooth / respray (not happy with the finish) the bay and freshen up the lump.

It will be finished one day, I just need to get my finger out
