All waxed with new badges and uv protection - it's looking awesome! Just waiting to get some tyres fitted right now. The car looks a nice deep red when it's inside/ in the shade and looks more orange in the full sun

I've just finished giving the car its second layer of wax. I couldnt recommend the wax high enough - its excellent stuff! This is the kit i bought:
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/complete- ... d_408.html
I had a laugh at the tyre place though. I'm sat in the reception and i heard one of the chaps say "fuck me! for a 316i its got a fucking great big sump and gearbox"
The pics don't do it enough justice - the car is so red and shiney its unbelivable

And after owning the sticker for about a year, im finally representin'!

Now watch it rain

Yeah, but i dont see the point tbh because the wheels are in a crap state anyway. In a way i wish i never washed them because you can see just how bad they are now

Thanks for the comments guys
When i was looking for a car to 24v, i was hell bent on not gettng a red one - but i ended up getting this because of the lack of rot. After spending all that time washing it, im glad i bought a red one - it looks immaculate.
Such a bastard to show it in photos though!

This shows just how shiney the bonnet was though

Popped over to eko's on the way home

And stopped for another few snaps...

I have been away for the past month so the car hasnt been used. I left the battery connected incase my mum wanted to use it (and she didnt use it in the end)... and now the battery is knackered becuase it wont hold any charge at all. Luckily its under warrenty, its got a new battery and starts on the button
Booked the car in to get the vanos seals replaced by the local bmw specialist today and he says its a brilliant engine and sounds spot on - which has made me happier
but im getting the seals done anyway and getting him to check out the wheel bearings
Thanks to beardymatt and danthe i have some h&r springs and bilstien dampers to go on soon but ive also got mot and insurance in a few weeks though

I normally try to keep MOT/tax about 6 months away from insurance, not so hard a hit that way. Will be interesting to see how much difference you find the vanos seals make, I did the seals on a twin vanos E46 325i the other week and the guy likened the difference to a re-map

Removed the m50 inlet from my old non vanos lump. What a mission and a half that was - the nuts rounded straight off on two of them
all off now though, just needs a bit of a clean
Any tips for fitting the manifold?
I've made a huge order (or two!) of parts from bmw which i'll be picking up later this week

these defo werent 11mm! I tried the 11mm socket on them by hand and they were just clipping the corners of the nut and begining to round them off (rusty
). 7/16ths fitted perfectly and got most of them out, but i had to sacrifice two 10mm sockets for the bastards that wouldnt come out!

I got me some goodies

Everything from new covers for the dampers, to new inlet and injector seals. I've bought some e90 drophats for slightly bigger drop when i change the springs but im unsure if it will be too low? 35mm h&r springs and about another 10mm from the drophats. I also purchased some thicker 10mm rear spring pads to help me get some rake
And now i have to go back to bmw to pick up all the bits that they forgot to give me

They only lower about 10mm, and thats without rubber pads IIRC, you dont want to be fitting those ally hats without pads..
