Seems the biggest to go under a 16x7 Alpina is 308mm with a 13mm spacer

Not keen on the spacer! Im sure something can be cobbled together though
Si, these donks use the S50 MAF as standard so yours will be the same, I had been using an M52 MAF as thats what the Yank S52 ECU needed

Been waiting to see that system fitted mate. It does look great. If only I had had the readies at the time
Wheels were always a must with your donk!
Car just keeps getting better!
What about a baby blue respray next?

Ha! Hartges aren't going anywhere Gaz, I wish id kept my RG's now for the track car or drag tyres TBH, decent light wheels for E30's are getting hard to find
As long as its making factory figures Ant im not really fussed, been meaning to get to a dyno but just not got round to it. Cheers for the compliments

It will when it gets the correct wheels on it, none of this plastic centre capped wrongness!

they aint plastic Bazza, they are made from kevlarbss325i wrote:It will when it gets the correct wheels on it, none of this plastic centre capped wrongness!
some Rle's would be nice to go over the big anchors
I've been telling Dan for ages his turd has to wear staggered Alpina's. The main issue will be getting the 540 calipers and 300+mm front and rear discs to fit behind them. 13mm spacers sounds too much to me?bss325i wrote:It will when it gets the correct wheels on it, none of this plastic centre capped wrongness!

I hope you can find a way to make it work!DanThe wrote:I could live with 10mm on the front but would need to get the back wheels out to match or more which could be a problem due to the chromie arch

Ive had a look round the net today and I dont need to try them on to know they wont fit, plan has been hatched though, funnily enough ive just had another set of 540i calipers chemically de-rusted ready for zinc plating as the current calipers have started to dull off a bit too much
Its looking like I will need different front calipers and possibly different brackets, but hey ho, its all good fun

Looking good as usual Dan, it's good to see you've not lost your OCD! If you're over in Oswestry anytime in it give me a shout I'd love to see it in the flesh again!

Now driving an E46 320D touring
reading through from page 1 Dan and i came across this comment on the bottom of page 1.... i had to laugh when i saw it because how wrong is he..!But it is 'cool'.
And it won't be cool after you've molested it.
And you can't put a price on cool.
And it's cooler and harder to NOT molest a car than to molest it.
But it's your car, do as you wish.
lol, quite the contrary. she's as cool as they get

Well, I got this plastic jobbie at York yesterday, fastest in class and put down another 13.5

They could have done a chrome one...
Today ive had it on the rollers with the intention of some mapping but it turned into an all day fault finding session, we think the exhaust cam has slipped and ended up slightly retarded, so next job will be covers off and see whats what.
We also ran some tests on the injectors which are pink 2.8 items, thinking they were maybe too small, at idle speed they are open for nearly twice as long as usual run of the mill engines, even though its running lean at idle, at the top end they are maxing out, did a few ECU swaps and on the 2.8 standard ECU they max out at 6k rpm and the engine miss fires on the dot every time..
According to the Bosch injector guide they are good for 42hp per injector = 252hp
After a few texts to Mr 13 his donk also has the pink injectors so they must be what Alpina fitted as standard, but they are working overtime which might be something to improve on down the line.
Strange part is, the engine made the most power on the 2.8 ECU and MAF, pulled 270hp

Dan i only looked at the pictures i have of mine in bits. Could there be a part number difference but the injectors themselves are the same colour or something odd like that?

Nah the colours are for identification, they are listed as numbers and colours in the Bosch guide. My engine had a few bits missing but its doubtful the injectors would have been robbed and then replaced, and the covers put back on, only 40k odd miles too.
Will have a look for the alpina parts catalogue later on, see if they are listed in there.
