Beautiful work. Love the Hartge livery on silver (in fact, I haven't yet seen a colour where the livery doesn't dramatically improve the look).
And in answer to the question above, the original colour of the Hartge sticker on the centre caps on the rims was silver.
Regards
David

Cheers for the nice comments guys
to say I am happy with the finished result is an understatement ,I can't stop looking at it , looks awesome from every angle.
it must have been something else if you were in a position to buy a brand new one back in 1989
I will try get better pics up , when the snow has gone and I dare to let it out of the garage again !
behave Adi, I love my council looking Hartge ironing board
there's still a few odd jobs to do , just tinkering and stuff, OBC retro fit and poss electric windows, (I'm too old for these keep fit versions) just noticed in the pics the brake light is stuck on !!
I have just found out it's still MOT'd so tax tommorrow in place for the first drive, for me that's what it is all about
does anyone know how long /many miles I should carefully run in the engine ?

What work has been done to the engine. If it's new then you need to work the rings in. Careful driving will carbon the bores.

yes it's all new.. bores were Honed.. all shells, rings, complete head re-build and cam ect,Dezzy wrote:What work has been done to the engine. If it's new then you need to work the rings in. Careful driving will carbon the bores.
so driving it carefull is not a good idea?
No neither is leaving it on tick over.
Danthe and Ant at A tech told be to fully open the throttle from 2k to 5k in second gear, then engine brake back till 2k. Do this over and over for 20mins or 30 miles. This beds the rings in. Then normal driving right throughbthe rev range up till it's done about 100 miles. Drop the oil and stick sone good synthetic gear in.

Did you manage to sort anything with the old style Hartge badges?
When are you next down at Pete's? i'll have to pop round and see this!
James, I will be down in this next weekend if your about?,
done quite a few miles on the back roads today,
the old turd is bedding in nicely, and I'm enjoying every minute.
I was going to fit the Cd ect today but the noise from the donk is superb, it has lots more grunt over any B2.5 I have driven
I also gave it it's first wash since collecting dust in the garage...as you can probably tell I am crap with a camera

I can't get the bacbox to sit right in the rear apron will have another go at it when i get it up on the 2 poster,

Fantastic Steve! Look forward to seeing this at some of the shows this summer!
