Could be a miss print either way then, but which is correct? Id believe the parts catalogue over the driver info TBH

Interesting that there is this anomaly but i personally would trust the manufacturers technical info over the parts catalogue which has been known to have inaccuracies.
They are put together by different departments and so are repair instructions.
The three can contradict themselves in some circumstances.
Only one way to find out regards the tank capacity though!

I best rescue my tools and charge up the rattle gun, can't remeber the last time I actually used them on a cara˜”
As far as I know there's no plans to do anything other than swap the contents of the silver car in to a red one.
What are the catering facilities like Barry??? Or is Oz supplying us all a packed lunch!

Microwave and a kettle!
Plenty of places in the vicinity to buy grub as well.
There is also a toilet unlike Henrys gaff! Oh the luxury!

Picked this up earlier after a fresh MOT and finnal bits and bobs sorted, seriously happy with all the work Barry, massive thank you sir!!
Untold amonts of work have gone into this E30, sure Barry add the detail.
Certainly drives very well, nice and tight which we like:)
Also, everything feels just better, 200k less wear could be why!
Needs a good clean and detaill, will then get some better pics up...
Gold wheels FTW BTW

That just looks so different from when it was on my drive a few weeks back!
And it must feel good now all that gear is finally in a completely rot free shell Oz. Think back, this was exactly the conversation we had on the phone a couple of years back when I found that white low miles 316 up north.

So after the sensible decision was made by Oz not to patch up yet again or sink thousands into restoring a rusty shell which had covered the best part of 270k miles, we came to a deal where i sold him a 57k mile 2 owner 318i auto that had been garaged and lived in South London all its life.
I bought the car and tidied it up as despite the virtually rust free conditon it had a few knocks and dents, the woman who I got it from who had it 22 years must not have been good a parking lol!
There was a small areas of corrosion under some underseal on the rear panel near the tow eye so this was cut out and made good.
So to smarten it up I put two new genuine BMW front wings on, a good used front valence, had theses painted along with the bumpers and mirrors to colour code them as they were plain black.
Once that was done, trev worked his magic on making the rest shine.
Behold! Front lifting pads that are not crunchy!

Rear arches where you can still see the spot welds!

Now, onto the major task of swapping the running gear!

The A-tech built 2.7 donk being extracted.

The gnarly M40B18 about to be evicted after 24 years from its minty engine bay.

Si13 doing his impression of a coal minor...

Goodbye 4 pot scrap!
Oz has already posted the results but after a couple of weekends of grafting, one of which thanks must go to Simon13 and Powely contributing, we have the finished result.
A summary of what was done reads as,
Strip silver 325iSE donor car to almost bare shell
Remove all running gear and tank from 318i
Convert 318i from auto to manual
Fit A-tech built M20B27 after replacing sump gasket and all belts
Fit 325i sport gear box
Fit new genuine prop guibo and centre bearing
Fit brand new radiator
Use mint front crossmember and low mileage steering rack and linkage from 318i
Fit 1 year old 62ltr tank removed from 325i
Fit brand new genuine BMW front to rear fuel and brake lines
Fit complete disc brake rear axle and 3.64 LSD from 325i
Fit new Lemforder axle bushes
Fit compete 51mm front struts from 325i with existing KW springs and Bilstein B6's.
Fit rear Bilstein B6's and H&R sprints
Fit adjustable H&R roll bars
Fit scorpion exhaust (grrrrrrrrrrr!)
Fit shaddow line trim and pop outs
Fit compete E30 M3 recaro LS black leather interior
Fit parcel shelf rear blind
Fit all four Alpine speakers and run wires for sub and amp in boot.
Fit Alpina spoilers and skirts after being painted
Fit 57k mile speedo into 6 pot clocks
Wire in extra fuel gauge sender
Fit battery in boot conversion
MOT
Road test!
At some point in the not too distant future the black head lining and map light mirror need to be fitted and there is also a cruise kit in the pipe line.
