Well I thought it lasted for about 20 minutes but it may have been 10-15 minutes. Still, longer than anywhere else as other places it lasted 5 minutes or so, but I spent 5 minutes trying to get some of the cats in but they wouldnt come

The bricks, they were already weathered but they're alot worst now than before

Took a few good hours just cleaning all the tiles up

Those sunnier pictures, I had already been up on the roofs to clear the loose tiles away so they didnt fall and hurt anyone or the dogs

We've thrown the majority of them in the skip and theres alot, should only take a few days to replace them though

Everyone was ok, all the animals are ok too, 2 cats took a beating by it. One wouldnt come in as couldnt hear me shouting from 3 metres away, the other took a hail stone to the face as it tried to get its kittens in, which it successed  And shes fine now

The chromie... Im gonna ring up someone later to see how much they charge, if it can be sorted then great, im obviously not gonna pay for each dent and hopefully they'll charge me for the day, or how ever long it takes... Or, I could replace the panels and try and remove what I can myself, then get the old filler out

Fiona's clio got it really bad on the roof, I only shown one picture of the light but the roof is all over the place being a cheap french car. Luckily she was out in the e46 else all our cars would have been hit

I dont think i'll scrap it just yet, but unfortunately, I doubt it will be back on the road this year, unless I get a spur of the moment thing in a bit and just go for a respray which I am still debating...

I was really looking forward to getting her back on the road for the german show though, will still be coming down in the E46 though, Rick's still going in his chromie so a few of you will see that in the flesh with the dents

Pointless in giving up now :D It was having a respray anyway, just not yet as I wanted it on the road for the shows and was gonna just turn up with it hanging... I think its a bit too hanging though  It will be sorted, just depends on how quick I plow cash back into her... I'm still trying to get my head round it all.

I was just about to start replacing some roof tiles but it looks like the heavens are gonna open again. I have about 70 tiles here which I can make a start with, wont do much in terms of the whole amount though

That's f*cking dreadful Jim!!!!!!!!
Dent people charge by the panel don't they (the one I use does) so they'll get a shock- you probably will with the bill also. That is very gutting news :(

If you're going for a respray anyway, don't bother with dent removal - just get them to skim filler over the affected areas.

Jim Im sorry to hear of your plight...keep the chromie mate, a descent paint shop should be able to do a good job and sort of these dents.

My boddyshop man in Bolton has worked wonders on the dents in my resto

PM me if you need his number mate

cheers

I've had a think about it today and I shall be filler her up, like speedtouch said, there is no point in paying someone to pull the dents.

Plan is to get the filler work done, then get the person who is doing the respray do the final prep/check before spraying... Should hopefully be cheaper too if I do the prep...

I'll update with how I get on as I go like before, just a shame as its a major set back

Sorry to see that fella.

I'm going to go way off topic here (as I've got man-flu and I'm not really myself) - my Bolivian mother-in-law reckons all the freak weather across the globe is the planet trying to get us to wake up and reduce the waste and slow down the population growth which is a ticking timebomb.

Food for thought.

You could always spray it 'Outspan Orange', and explain away the dents as a special-order orange-peel effect.

I had Rav telling me it will go faster now, due to it being like a golf ball  Then I told him me and Ricky are gonna make a start on Ricky's chromie this weekend and he said, 'Thats alright then, that was fooked anyway' :chuckle:

I just sold an old vinyl roof kit that came spare with a car I bought, and had been sitting in the garage gathering dust for the last three years.

It was just a sheet of vinyl and fitting instructions, no glue, and I stuck it on E-bay, expecting it to perhaps fetch £5 if I was lucky. In the end, some Swedish guy paid £26 + £10 postage for it! :D

Or you could go for a carbon fibre vinyl wrap:

The dent people I know charge per panel not per dent! If some of the dents are really bad they may tell you it can't be taken out but I've seen them correct some pretty nasty stuff :D

Thanks for all the supportive comments by the way :thumb: It does help...

Just a bit gutting, as I was looking forward to having the car on the road next week or so. But shiiit happens. I've already made a start today on prepping it up... Passenger side has had a sand down, gonna sand it all over then get some filler on it etc, get it all good and see what the date is and what money I have to spend on it. I'll upload some more pictures shortly.

I gave it a clean on friday I think so I could see the dents a bit more easily, got some pictures too, not much different from whats above but i'll add them in anyway

Jim, DON'T start doing prepwork when you can't keep it inside & dry, especially doing filler! That's porous and soaks up water, that then leads to awful paint jobs (micro blisters etc) and you've got no comeback because you did the prep!!!
