Ant loved it so much he didnt want to give it back to me!!

Regarding the steering lock, its the bog standard rack in there as far as i know. I have not done anything to reduce the steering lock.

Why do you ask mate?

i just remebr Ant saying when he first got it, something about the turning circle but that may be to do with the width of the wheels i guess.

GingerTim- I have no idea what you would typically get out of 2.7. Suppose it depends on additional mods like BBTB, 6 branch etc.

I would love to get it on a dyno as soon as its run in. Will keep you posted.

Ian- I think it may have been something to do with the Borbets as getting a full lock at the moment rubs the arches slightly. :(

Should be interesting to dyno it! I'd love more power out of mine but not sure what to do. It's all expensive!

Interesting to say the least.

With regards to expences, i guess its an advantage when you can do majority of the work yourself but hen i suppose if you want quality from renowned people then you will have to pay a price.

Do some research first and see what you can manage mate. E30zone members will be more than happy to point you in the right direction.

Well, after being sold in 2008 and me having a dabble with the VW scene (also aquiring a couple E30's inbetween) she has made her way back in my hands and my how i missed her. After being alerted by the guy that i had originally sold her too that she was back up for sale on Pistonheads i went to see her 2 days later after the call. I placed a deposit and a week later id bought her back. Some may think im mad for doing so but after putting so much time, effort, MONEY, blood, sweat and tears into her i just had to have her back "home". Shes abit battered and bruised and im yet to see how things are under the kit etc but her she is...
Excuse the sticker. Its hiding a scuff.

Its funny how quickly a car can deteriorate when put into the hands of someone who has no intention of keeping it.

I would never buy a car back, as I know it wouldn't be the same car but obvioulsy regretted selling this machine, the engine must have cost you thousands!

cheers

You're both right. If it was any other car id sold, id not think of buying it back but this is the furthest id gone with a project and had to do what i had to do at the time of selling it but ive taken a gamble but one things for sure, shes staying put!

Cheers Suchy. Engine sounds and goes nice. The guys i bought it off was in the motor trade and assured me no expense was spared in terms of maintaining and servicing the car. He did most of the work himself. Time will tell. For now its a case of stripping her and seeing whats what. Its had 3 owners since i sold it. 8O Doesnt fill me with alot of confidence.

Shame if not looked after properly. Ant built you a proper 2.7 didn't he which should be strong but useless feckers owning and thrashing will take their toll. Glad it's back in your hands again- now get to work 8)

To be honest i geared myself up for worse so seeing it how it is now aint to bad. Ant built a good'un, yes so i hope whatever was thrown at it, it just took on the chin and motored on. Im glad its back too and seeing the amount of thread revivals and resto projects popping up, its great motivation.

Found this old pic from when i first bought her. Changed abit now...

So, a little update and its pretty bad. Decided that while the car is off the road id strip out the interior and see whats what. Floor pans are likely to be shot as well as both sills (but ive not had the balls to take the kit off yet! 8O )

Currently on the search for reputable welders local to me so if anyone has any suggestion please feel free to let me know. In the meantime...

I know mate. Will get the kit off this weekend hopefully and probably rip out the roof lining while im at it. Hope the roof is not as bad as the floor :(

Im pretty certain water is leaking in from the rear window or something as the leathers were all mouldy when i took them out.

Passenger side footwell had a nice puddle and the carpet was totally soaked.

Yeah as far as i know the bulkhead is clean as is the scuttle. Hope you're right and like the new sig!

Picked up a set of BBS Mahles on the weekend from Derby. Swapped my Borbet A's with cash the other way for these. Bit of an impulse purchase and not sure if i did the right thing. Wheels are 15" and not really filling the arch out back. 8j fronts and 9j backs with very low ET's and 15mm adaptors (4x100 to 5x130). All comments welcomed.

Think the backs need to go in 10mm and the fronts to come out 10mm. Interiors still stripped so im sure it will sit abit lower than it is now. winkeye

No other pictures for now but will get more this weekend hopefully. Trial fitted them today.

Wheels are growing on me. Few tweeks here and there and im sure i can improve the stance. The rust hunt has temporarily stopped due to a combination of bricking myself at the thought of what may be uncovered and not having the time to do so. Ive got Adit sending me over a chrome grill and orange indicators. Thinking of Lamin X'ing the headlights (light smoked).
