Slight change of heart... need some opinions...

Definitely never going to put the tech 2 door panels and skirts on my face lift, however i am considering putting tech 2 front and rear valances on, could i get away with the tech one skirts -assuming the lines are smoothed out? I think it would look quite cool.

What do you all think?

Has anybody actually done it?

Best regards 'yall! Goosie

Looking at the link to the lip spoiler on ebay I notice it's sold by beema world.

I wouldn't buy anything from beema world if it is the same place I'm thinking of.
This is why - THIS IS AN AMAZING STORY of a Resevoir Dogs style attack
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sitese ... tionId=674

You could get a brand new 'is' lip spoiler from BMW for a similar price and it would fit properly with the correct clips and not require drilling and bolts to bodge it in as the 'beema world' one would.

The BMW comes already in primer which you then get sprayed for you in red which would best be done by a body shop for most durable finish.

I think you could spray it black with hamerite paint to give a strong finish which may be less liable to paint chips. If it were black it would match the rest of the car being black at the bottom and it is easy to do DIY I would imagine.

Thats a damn good idea man!

To be honest i had no idea it would be that cheep from BMW -Do We think i should still go for the is lip? or would the match of mtec kits work?

Best regards, Goosie. :)

To be honest on your car the 'is' front lip spoiler would look great in either body colour or black. I wouldn't add anything else. Your car has enough variation in shades of red already without adding more.

Did you look at that link. I'm thinking I could post it elsewhere. It's quite F@*ked up.

dude! -legend! lol! Even i haven't sprayed in my bedroom lol! I just left the door open for all sorts of jokes i know!

As you say Toby, there's a lot of different shades of red going on right now -i think I'm just gonna bite the bullet and get the respray should cost about £1200 but I'll wait till mid summer.

At the moment its a case of finding the look that i like for the car the wheels are a temporary job till i can be arsed to get them properly refurbished, i think i'm gonna go for the is lip, tech1 skirts and some sort of rear valance, either tech1 which will be a thread in itself for the fitting or something a little less difficult to fit like a lower wrap around job

Quite happy with how the wheels turned out tho :D

Hi guys, nice work there goosie, was just thinking, if you can find out who supplies the local bodyshops with paint and parts, chances are they will have a spray can filler, ive lost track of the number of times ive gone to the supply shop here and got them to do a quick colour match on the car itself then mix up a little colour and fill me a couple of spray cans with it for small repairs, i also did a whole bumper once and it turned out surprisingly well 8O

After about 6 months of mucking about with this thread i finally bothered my lazy arse to take some pics of the car with the skirts

Recent cutbacks require manual clamping of the skirts to the side of the car, above 60 this could become hazardous to the clamps lol! :D

side skirts shouldnt be an issue, as long as you always check to make sure nothing is getting trapped in them (water, dead leaves, mud, etc.)
1 Q, i see you got mtech1 skirts, will it not be out of place?, what u going to put on the back and front?

Hey dude, thinking of having them glued on to avoid drilling the body panels.

I'm thinking of having the mtec1 lines smoothed off, then going for a under bumper valance at the rear and an is-lip spoiler on the front.

What you reckon? i don't wanna try and make a tec1 rear valance fit under the facelift bumper, reckon it'd be a real pain in the arse... actually thinking about it -has anybody managed it? :D
