Jags...heard alot of mixed opinions of that dude. Seen his work which personally think is excellent. You may have seen a silver Mark 2 golf owned by a chap called Hiten. Lovely motor! It hink Jag had a red old 5 series once upon a time.Gorgeous red and fast as fook!

The place where i am is on Nursery Lane just of Romford Road. Highly recommended dude and im sure they could sort out your touch ups. Give them a call on the number on my sig. Speak to Hurj.Tell him i forwarded you onto him.

We should meet up dude. How long you had your Tourer assuming you still have it.

Giggz, 8O just seen this thread and i am gutted for you mate, i think my cab was finished about the same time yours was!!

did you find out what they did wrong in the other garage? what paint did they use, i would highly highly recommend for the clear coat Glasurit (spelling) scratch proof clear coat, it rocks, and if your garage man is patient leave it at least a couple of weeks after clear coat until they finally flatten and polish, it allows the paint to fully harden. most garages dont like this cause it takes twice as long to polish because the claer is so hard, but really worth the wait.

and i also thought about removing the rubbing strips but decided against it as i figured it would not be long before someone opened their door onto the car, no strips =

but for ideas have a look at any E30 M3, they dont have any either

but mate, really gutted for you and your wallet

Kam- where abouts do you have your ICE shop? Can come down and check it out sometime. I didnt know Jag has 6 aswell.I've seen him in a nice rs turbo winkeye

MrLee-hows it going buddy. Your right my car was done more or less the same time yours was. The guy just done a cowboy job on my car. Paint flaking off on the bumpers. Mist spots all around the car. Paint wearing off shouwing primer on the arches.

Hope your ride is all fine and dandy.Looks lovely from some of the pics i've posted up by you. Great sig to!

I know that the company that produces the paint being used on my car is called 'Standox'. Im going to forward that name that you mentioned to him and see what he thinks. Thanks for the tip. I agree on the rubbing strips although mine are coming off because of the Tech2 kit going on. Ooooh yeah! It should be arriving today.

Ooooh interesting...they got a touring they working on at the moment with flip flop paint(not to my liking really) and they got a tech2 kit going on it to. You dont get many tourings with tech2 kits on but when you do they look really nice. winkeye

yeah looks nice, as i said i am really not a fan of the tech2 slabs of plastic on the doors, plus cab door kits are very hard to come by.

dont have any more pics from the side but looks good, if you were to remove the rubbing strip it would look even better!!

Quick update.
Well its been quite a shitty day really. Went to check out the car and as we thought (but quietly hoped it had not) the rust has preety much eaten away at the lower drivers side sill/arch. Took off the door cars and it looks like crap from the inside. Its slowly flaking away

This is the area where a hole was formed with not alot of effort when pressed. The pics not great but i small hole is there.
Image
Surprisingly the middle is still preety solid but the metal has wore thin. The area closer to the door does not look to good either
Image
Plus point was that the ariel has now gone and the car looks preety flush now.
Image
In regards to the rust its chop chop away!

Not 100% at the moment any suggestions would be great but i think at the moment there was talk of a substance with Zinc in it. And also a method of galvanising the area.

Thanks dude! Your right. I know its in good hands but so disheartening. Another thing was that i bought a replacement rear arch and the shape was so distorted that it didnt even line up properly! It was the first time i saw the replacement arch up against the car and boy was it bent! I got the arch from Sel-Imperial. Beware folks! Nix mate your ride looks really nice and with the 325 lump in it now! You badboy you! Great pictures.

Thanks mate. I'm hoping to get the bodywork freshened up before Christmas. Not going for a full respray (I hope I won't have to anyways). But won't be far off, arches, sills and a few other areas have been hit by rust. Doesn't look so bad in the pics but when you look up close, its scary in places!

Yeah thats pretty much the way mine is. I'm getting a guy in Coventry to do it. I got to know him whilst I was at uni there. He's always got cool cars that he's working on there. Think he's even got a contract with one of the classic car museums up there or something so he's pretty good. Plus he's got an e30 himself. Minter of a 318iS resprayed by himself obviously, in a dark olive green. See pic below:

Image

(thats his arm and leg in the photo)

Most of all he's a good bloke and I trust him. Next time I'm up there he's gonna give me a quote. I imagine he'll probably knock a bit off for me since I've had some work done by him previously and have kinda known him for a couple of years now. Would suggest him to any zoners in the Coventry/West Midlands area.

Glad you found someone you can trust. Very hard to find someone like that in this industry. Plus it helps that he got E30 and has a love for them. I recognise his car. I think he came on here when i was going through my first respray and i needed some ideas for what colour i should for and he put that same pic up. Nice colour i must say.

Nah, I remember now. That was actually me who put that pic up. I've only got 2 of his car and one of them isn't very sharp (both taken by camera phone). Yeah in real life its a lovely motor. He almost got rid of it recently for an RX7, but just bought a Suzuki GSX instead and kept the e30! Good option.

But yeah, its hard to find mechanics etc you can trust. Hopefully the peeps doing your car now are the same.

Rust is gone now dude. Welded in a new plate around that area. I am looking to get a set of Borbet B's on her. Since seeing them on Twiggy's ride i have fallen in love with them! Got to raise the cash first though.
