Was said e30 setup correctly on the rear end ? i.e camber /toe..

The shafts come with a warranty for component failure, was that honored?

Theres allot of hate about for these shafts on the internet, but until you've tried some your self with a correctly setup rear end you cant just take there word for it.
I would say it was

Here's his build

It's justified criticism

Its not hate its the truth! :D I was sat next to Sams turd at the Pod when the inner CV shit itself when he was doing a burnout, not even under launching! Needless to say I won the race :)

There is a guy that rallies an S50 converted car and he has broke 3 or 4 sets

i have seen the Rally ones, but that car has some serious grip and more than likely a very tight diff, i'd expect a shaft to be a weak link.

will see how i get on with them, i havent broken a standard 325 shaft, or a 318ti shaft yet, so im hoping my tyres spin before the shafts break..

either way if i break a CaTuned shaft they will be having it back for a replacement, along with all my alignment data.

The gearbox mount isn't going to be the weak link, that's for sure!

Dan , was that shaft spinning the tyres when it went ? or did it go on releasing the clutch ?

Im not sure you would have to ask Sam, if I was buying shafts that were being sold to me as 'indestructible' id be a bit peed off that they break no matter how much grip I had. That rally car didn't just break the CV's either I've seen a pic of the shaft broke.

Keep your receipt safe FTW :D

receipt is safe dw haha.

i've seen the picture your taking about on fb, i actually sent the link to that discussion to the supplier to shed some light on the situation, but i don't think CaTuned are liking it.

ive also asked CaTuned directly what the warranty requires before i fit them :D

A supercharged s54 with loads of grip vs said shaft, is hardly a fair test to say that something is junk. I believe the CVs on these are standard but new and its the chromoly shaft that is uprated. I don't think they are sold as 'indestructible'.

I didn't think an s50 would have enough torque to break a shaft :D

So whats the solution for high power then?

Yes 108mm porsche ones, but the outer CV will still be the same size, so that's just going to break instead.
