A F**K-load neater than mine were!rob0r wrote:I saw this in the flesh last week, it's a very cool car! Your repair pieces in the footwell are insanely neat.
Remember that the floor is spot welded to the chassis member.
Do you still need those reference pictures for the inner front sill construction?

Ok another weekend down and some more hours put into the car. thanks guys i tried real hard to keep everything neat, just a hangover from work. everything has is place etc etc...
so my forehead is a bit burned where i managed to get showered by sparks lol but the car is starting to come together. my welding is ok, the pieces I've attached are still attached and i have re primed the bare metal ready for the next session. hopefully i will have the floor sorted by next weekend. i also made the mistake of leaving the car outside last night in the middle of a thunderstorm. found a massive puddle in the passenger footwell
not too happy about that.
another round of hunt the rust hole will commence tomorrow.
heres some pics of my latest work sorry i forgot to take some before i ground it back...
never mind any who!
this bit is in once everything is in and i can trust the jacking point again i will lift the cart and check to see if i missed any spots on the chassis member underneath.

most proud of the work i did here.

primed etc..

and a quick pic of my current procrastination tool.

have fun! - mike

time for an update. been a couple of weeks but have done a fair bit. the foot well is welded up mostly got a few bits to finish and my rear hub bearings are done. rear brakes are all rebuilt with handbrake working both sides. also bought a new bonnet from a nice chap only cost £20
so that was a bargain. so I've been driving(hooning slightly) around lowestoft scaring the locals with my epic exhaust. only problem of not being able to hear the bearings, i can now hear everything else thats knocking and squeaking
. found some more leakage. the obc wiring was all wrong going through the firewall causing water to drip into the passenger footwell. also the lip under the boot seal has rotted slightly. someone has previously tried to stop it with gaffer tape and silicone. more body work to do then. heater fan has packed up again but i suspect a wiring fault as I've tried various resistors, but the fan only still works on 4. also a front indicator is on the fritz so next project is to cut the bumper off (the torque nut has seized and rounded off) and change the bonnet. yippie! heres some pics of my bearing success.

Yay handbrake fixed on this side. you have no idea how nice it is to know the car isn't going to roll away.

not a bad tool for £40. it would be no good for a professional garage where it would see lots of use as the metal is a bit soft.
