That's where I'm confused as my c2.5 has bananas from new. It was the Synters demonstrator apparently, which may have led to it having more trinkets.Rodderz wrote:Barry, I'm sure the early C2 2.5 only came with a modified cast manifold.

Maybe they felt guilty about the surplus doors ?
Didnt even spot there was a page 2 lol.
Cheers for the love and all the information everyday's a school day.
My plan for now is : repairs, still keep low, return interior and engine bay to oe look, keep the eyebrows, poss change the back lights back to original and repair splitter.
Long term plans: full respray. Oe stickers and badges. Add headlight washers, a/c & cruise control. Oe ride height. No brows. Exactly as it should, but with a few more oe options.
From what I know about the manifolds they were janspeed manifolds used by alpina nottingham, they kept melting steering couplings so the design was modified a number of times. But its still cooked them, so they were removed from the packages as of 89.

Nope, C1 2.3, C2 2.5, C2 2.7 and early C2.5 had the mild steel Janspeed made RHD manifold.Rodderz wrote:Barry, I'm sure the early C2 2.5 only came with a modified cast manifold.
Not many lasted though as they rotted out easily.
The other issues were cracking at the down pipe flanges and much later on, rusting badly.e30stig wrote:From what I know about the manifolds they were janspeed manifolds used by alpina nottingham, they kept melting steering couplings so the design was modified a number of times. They are so rare now tbh.
I have customers C2 2.7 in at the moment which has the original six branch but it is being taken off for now to do something with it to preserve it.
