If you plan on keeping the car long term, (imho its worth restoring) start chiping away at it over the summer and do the bits as and when you can afford.

It took me 3 years to save and have bits done to my cabby, but its now properly sorted.

If your up for a project, you now have one.!
Yep! I'm definitely up for it and will be keeping the car long term... As you say I think it's just a case of chipping away.

The paint work from a distance looks ok after a wash and a polish, but is tired with loads of stone chips, scratches, laquer peeling etc. What would be my best option to inject some life into it??

Indeed it probably will have, my first 325i did, E reg, facelift, went like the clappers, had much more get up and go than my Touring does.

Tiny Little bit of scab on drivers door complete with multiple chips to the edge, one of the previous owners was obviously a fan of opening the doors onto o
objects and causing damage to it :?

I'll bet that's seat belt damage, does the seat belt retract fully and quickly?
Mine had (and still does) chips here and where it kept getting shut in the door by quick exits and the seatbelt not retracting quick enough and the shutting the door on to it.

Thinking about it I don't think it closes as quickly as it should, you could be right about that.
