Evo wings are cheaper than stock M3 wings iirc.

maybe so, but they'll look lost if the car goes back on 15's and i dont think the cost difference will have an impact on the final bill of damage, and not original.

or have i missed something apart from it being a RHD Birds car ?

As far as I know, it's going on 16's, and no real idea on the choice of wings 8)

The car is going on 16`s plus a small drop so will look good. Besides the owner wants the option of bigger wheels if it suits him.

The price of evo arch liners negates any saving on the wings by far.

Almost

I have many more pics but photobucket is being an arse... :(

we are going with the EVO wings because it will sometimes have 16" BBS RS fitted, Most of the time it will have Hartge wheels,

maybe a bit overkill but it will be on B8's and H&R's with a little drop on the front, so i don't want issues with rubbing ect,

I took a look at the carbon airbox today, who has used one of these ? how is it filtered? or does it just suck up raw air and small children/dogs ect ?

I thrive on a challenge trev :D

some more pics now Photobucket is behaving !

Donk out,

this thing is covered in oil and crap, it did run very very well though , less than 1k back it had a full top end re-build by BMW... the bill is quite scary... but somewhere it has a bad oil leak, this needs fixing,
I doubt I will do much to this except replace all gaskets and the tensioner and give it a good once over,

is it worth lightening the flywheel ?

here's some oily pics...
Image

Image

due to the oil leak the underside was absolutely covered in shite,

been looking for a shell spit/roller type of thing but not had much luck,

so I Improvised, 8O

8 ton forklift ? works great, the forks are massive and very wide so no underside damage has been caused, :D

this looks very council !
Image

this was after a quick once over with the steam cleaner...

Image

Image

note the nice front sport subframe/Halfords wheels used for rolling it around on, :P

Image

the end result, 25 years of grime removed, it actually looks much better underneath now, and BeardyMatt won't get his Mig/Hands dirty ! :D

Image

check out the straw/chicken shit ect, on the top of the petrol tank after years being stored in a barn,
Image

the wiring is very sad after the RHD conversion , someone must have spent ages with the soldering iron, on this spaghetti mess....
Image

I need a replacement plan, it's not going back in.. Anyone got a full S14 RHD loom for sale ? :P

which brings me to this.. the converted Bulkhead, it's terrible Ok so it has done it's job since 1988 but it doesn't look OEM at all, my idea is to graft a RHD bulkhead in there and make it look perfect, (more work for Matt) :o:

the Used to be, steering bit..note the plates over where the column used to be years ago,

Image

and the "now" side,

Image

sad bodgery, this won't do, we need to bring it up to spec, :D

A standard RHD loom does the job with the s14 engine harness, the an extra bit is the wiring for the oil pressure sender

a full car is too heavy for the forklift, I think it could do damage to the underside... :(

Jason
that's the plan, an 86' preface body loom with seperate dash/ heater looms and add on the oil pressure sender bit,

no soldering needed :D OEM plugs FTW ! :D

Who did the conversion Steve? This is worrying shit really. When you look at Theos old bulkhead on his H36 and the abotion that was, and now see this one. OK they lasted the years but think of the money they original owner laid out for these bodges!!! 8O

Owner doesn't want it converted back to LHD then? Or did I miss that bit..

Would be an ideal chance now, do wonders for the value too...?

I thought about this for quite some time before I delivered the bad news after the autopsy, my plan was to tell him to sell up and buy a good one,

the owner wants a Henna RHD M3 and nothing else..if a good solid one came on the market he would have bought that and RHD converted it.. but chances of one being on the market are very slim

affecting the Value? it doesn't matter it will never be for sale.
