Moves the wheels forward which gives better stablilty while under brakes and turning in. Also puts more weight behind the front hubs which in theory should improve handling.

Gets rubbing at full lock with the wets which are ET10 but is fine with ET20 rims. Also without the camber shims the wheels stick out of the guard by a few mm and thats already with adjustible strut tops on full camber.

Went out on the track yesterday and it was so much more stable but it might be a combination of all the work that has gone into it recently, will have proof of how many seconds it has taken off by the 7th Nov :D

Wow! That a serious bit of kit you built there. I think you have done the right thing building this thing for the track! That is where a car like this can be enjoyed most i would imagine.

This is a great pic

Have you built this just for track days and fun or will you compete in the car too?

:D

I only use it for trackdays as I only like to race myself and i'm into the development side of things. My old man races it.

I thought E30 and E36 control arms were exactly the same geometry? A lot of E36 owners (including me) fit E30 control arms over E36 ones due to the E30 arms having solid mounted ball joints and them being a direct fit.

I thought it was the eccentric control arm rear bushes which move the wheel further forward compared to the standard concentric bushes...? :?:

Anyway, awesome looking car - I bet you're looking forward to the summer so you can get it out of the garage a bit more!!

You are correct for standard E36 arms but E36 M3 Evo arms have extra castor built into the arm itself and run normal bushes, so when you put it on the e30 and add offset bushes you get the wheel further forward than the standard arm.

Time for an update, this car has been crashed and rebuilt with a million changes. Competed in my first race meet a month ago and finished 6th twice out of 45 BMW entries.

Also fitted some style 5's today
