I'm fairly pleased with it so far, no hidden drama's just yet
Rear footwells are mint, no rust. Had a sneak peak under the front front wells and it looked promising
Hopefully it shouldn't cost too much to get the arches and sills repaired.

Yeah
I'm guessing it was because of blocked drainage holes that the previous owner didn't unblock

use the screw driver approach with anything that looks rusty, "stab" the rusty area as hard as you can over and over again and if the screw driver goes through its rotten, if it doesnt your lucky

You need to get digging in there. At the top of the inner arch theres rot and I can see another where the mud builds up behind the fuel filler pipe just before the inner arch goes below the boot floor level. Also those stains running from the back? Thats water ingress from rot! Also just forward of the lower boot ram mount along the seam? You need to get in there, don't fool yourself.
If that don't need a few patches, I'd be very surprised!

Everywhere will be poked, as you said, no point in trying to making out that there's nothing wrong with it
Hopefully not too many patches

Not yet, I've only just hit the 500 mile mark on the new engine so it's only just run in. I want to make a new exhaust system for it in the next few weeks then I'll get it on the dyno

It feels much more lively than the one that came out of it - midrange torque is far better

!
Go 24v with the cabby, you know it's the only way
