Little update. Had a bit of a issue putting the cams back in. I touqued the head back down put the exhaust cam back in with no problem. I set about fitting the inlet cam and started in the middle on workrd out only tightening a few turns at a time and then i herd a noise i didnt like. I snapped cam. I would like to take this chance to thank danthe for sorting me a cam out and basicly saving me from getting the gas bottles out and melting the m50 into a pair of pat butchers earings. Cheers mate.

M50 is now tripple overhead cam. Nice

I had a gasket but i had to get a new one because of the charger. This one is a special order from ecp direct from germany 3mm oversized to lower compression. I managed to sell the old one to a lad round the corner to cover some of the cost of this one. £55 head gasket. Nice

Thanks i will try. I am waiting for the starter motor now. Need to fit a m20 one witch I stupidly let go when I sold the engine and box out of the se. Once I have fitted the starter the lightened flywheel and sachs clutch can be bolted up and we are ready. More pics when I have something to show.

I had a cheep hottuning manifold on the se mate. I spoke to them about developing an m50 e30 manifold. They sent me a e36 one. I am going to make 1 out of the 2. Then send it back to them so they can pit them into production. That's the plan anyway mate.

Yeh mate I am only using the flanges the rest will be made up using the e30 item. I know they arnt the best but on the m20 it did make a difference fitting it. If I get it made it will be a very cheep manifold for me. I bought the e30 one off eBay for £60, they sent the e36 one foc. They will pick the moc up up and make one from scratch. I then get the first new one made all for nothing. If it fits and doesn't restrict flow then in my book that's a result. I would love to buy an off the self item but to much money. I have been looking for an s50 one but i have a custom straight through stainless system that was made to fit the cheep manifold. Hopefully i can make a good job of it.

Put it this way you need to use an electric fan on the other side of the rad. Viscos fan would reck the rad when hard braking.

Went out this morning and finished fitting the 63l fuel tank. They arnt any fun on your own like. Awkward to man handle on your back on gravel. Then fitted the rear end complete with new bushes. Need to fit the diff but want to fit new brake pipes as am putting discs instead of drums back on also means changing the handbreak cable. Anyone got an helpful tips as where they go into the body they look like a bit*h to get out. Pics tomorrow as its raining again now.

Finished manifolds used E36 ones in the end. They have been made to fit into the cross over pipes from hottunings cheep manifold. I am sending them back to be made up from stainless. Will try and get them made slightly larger so there is better flow. I have repaired the rear vallance and battery box. Only rot on the car. Also stripped front suspension down ready for new bottom arms and springs and shocks. Getting there slowly
