Nice, I had a Cherry Turbo in black and an Alfa Romeo Arna (same car but with a boxer engine in it) and both cars were very capable. I owned them more years ago than I care to remember now
Oh yeah was years ago for me too! :o:

I had a mini 1000, tuned obviously. My mates Cherry turbo had an unfortunate end. While rallying across the local downs on a midnight run he lost control taking out a few pieces of fence during the tank slap. How ever this wasnt the end of the car, the radiator was broken so rather than risk it cooking we parked it up in the nearest local car park, on the edge of the downs.

In the morningish we went drove up to the car park to do a bodge repair to get it back. Well as we entered the car park straight away we noticed something was seriously wrong with the car. It had bee run over by something really big, we never found out but we was fairly sure it was the local farmer who happened to own the fence(s) my mate had destroyed during his incident. We figured he drove his tractor over it. lol the roof was inline with the bonnet, totally ruined.
may get shot for this but i have a very large soft spot for the MKI escort
Dont we all? :D
