WAY OFF TOPIC NOW
Its an essay, i am bored and its early
Fuzzy i agree with you 100%, every other week someone does a project or changes something on their car and the council and halfords comments start to fly, and then some like me try to assist in defending these hurt and stripped of all pride individuals, but by the next week its here we go again

it is funny, and pacerpete is a top bloke who i have done loads of business with, I have visited his backyard and he has visited mine (that last line does not sound to good

but you get my drift ) but he is the king of council commenting, which goes to show i am not taking this serious at all, its fun and we all have views.
Here is my view, you non modders can all go and ..............
Only joking. My view is, and most will disagree, most on this forum and i would say
Jhonno 60% are modders in some way, but just hate mods that affect the look or the body of the car, ie Lexus lights, M3 Mirriors, bodykits etc, as being a purists you can not see or understand why anyone would do such a thing, and its painful to see, but every make and model of car has been modded, so even though you have a view and an opinion, it makes no difference from either side as there will always be modders and purists, this war will never end

so just enjoy the banter and chillout
Just look at some of the cars that the manufacturers are pushing out epsecially in the top of the ranges, from BMWs to porsches, its bigger wheels, breaks, crazy colours, computerised this and that etc, all things that people who have been modding cars have been doing for years and in some cases getting slated for, but if the manufacturers do it, we say its fine. I have seen some super cars, especially porsches in the GT3 RS range, that i can not believe have come straight out the factory, with a crazy price tag as it looks more like it has gone to a modfier and probably has. (someone might be able to correct me)
Now what i mean by most on this forum are modders, comes down to a comment made in this thread about insurance. I am 100% sure most on here have not declared modifications to there insurance company and insurance companies see anything as a mod, and will refuse to pay out on a claim for anything that is not factory and not declared so looking around this forum what do i see in posts that in my eyes is a mod from the majority.
Superchargers, turbos, intercoolers, chips, Induction, polishing, painting, piping, six branchs, straight through exhaust systems, big break kits, deep dish rims, bigger wheels, bigger or low profile tyres, mtech 1 or 2 kits added, etc all mods and does not take away any originality from the body looks of the car, but anything that increases the BHP of your car is a mod, and should be declared, especially if you have a classic policy.
A zoner in this thread took out all the pictures of the cars i had posted that had standard bodies, but majority had big deep dish rims. Deep dish rims are a mod and not how the car came out the factory, and would be something you would have to delcare and could rise the price of your insurance premium.
Even a full respray or retrim (which is not a mod) on a classic policy should be declared, as it can take your £1k motor and give it an agreed value of £4k which is what a purists should do who is into restoring, and i know this is not cheap and can work out very expensive to do.
when i look around the zone this is what i see the majority doing, all day everyday, so you might not all be adding spoilers or after market bodykits to your E30 but most are doing some form of modding and where ever they start its just the beginning of things to come.
It is very rare with the exception of pacerpete (sorry mate) and a couple others, that someone on here will post up a picture of a car they have just purchased, and then a month later post the same picture again, without a wash, polish, BBS or Alpinas, or something done to their car to make it better in their in eyes.
Any way bottom line after all this drivel, from what i can see from the majority on here we all want our cars to look good just have different ways of doing it, with different budgets, and this is what seperates us and makes us different and is what should make the zone the best E30 forum out there.
