My speakers are also too deep for the hole, i personally don't have the equipment to make MDF rings.. is there a company that makes them?

anyways i removed the drivers side panel and speaker and i have placed some new wiring

Yes it would be worth it! Ive got twin 45's on mine with a straight through + fart cannon is loud so keep atleat 1 silencer on lol

panels removed and the speakers ready to go in, just waiting for the mdf rings! any idea why my heating has stopped working? no air is coming out..

Could be stuck thermostat; take it out and dunk it in a Pyrex jug of boiling water to see if it opens. If not, fit a new one.

sorry to be a numpty mate, where's the thermostat at? heaters do let out some hot air but you cant regulate it, it will be the same whether its on 1 or 5..

Usually at the front of the cylinder head, underneath a dome shaped alloy housing.

You may have some difficulty getting it off though, due to corrosion...

are these steelies worth anything to someone (old picture sorry) gonna get some x-spokes for winter wheels so don't have a use for these.. 3 tires are good and one is cracking so will need to be replaced.. Also got some Borbet A hex caps if anyone is interested!

Question: Would the engine rattling cause it to unplug it self from certain tubes?

I had a spare hour this morning so decided to start cleaning the engine bay and test my new hex logic pad.. wish i had all day! will have tomorrow though so i can hopefully get some more panels polished!

If the engine is violently shaking about on its mounts, then yes, there is the possibility it may shake some tubes (or other parts) loose.

Its weird, whenever i was driving it it seemed fine, but when i pushed on the brakes and slowed down you started to see the engine rattle

Im about to purchase a weber carb, what do i need to get it fitted? has the manifold and rubber mount and im buying the choke cable, anything else?

Makes sure you have the right linkages to suit your throttle and choke cables, or buy/make appropriate adaptors - or replace the cables, as required, of course.

Good idea to fit a new gasket between carb and manifold too, unless the existing one is in good condition.

A weber carb has been purchased so ill get the garage to fit that, also want it to sit lower so what coilovers will fit this car and at what sort of price?

The lights for the speedo etc have stopped working.. same with one of the front lights which doesn't go to the brightest.. what could be causing this?

Have you tried rotating the headlamp switch, which also acts as the instrument backlighting dimmer?

Yes i have mate :/ its the whole right side of the car.. front right light will only turn to half beam, rear brake right light doesn't turn on and speedo lights don't light up :S

Sounds like you need to check all the earths to the affected lights, and clean any corroded terminals if required.

But, check the bulbs first - it may be something as simple as a blown filament.

Does half beam and full beam now use the same bulb? where is the earth to the interior speedo lights? thats the biggest of my worries as its getting dark quicker now and id like an idea of what speed im doing! haha

No, on the E30, dipped beam is on the outer pair of lamps, and main beam is on the inner pair.

Remove the insruments cluster, and undo each backlight bulb in turn and either hold it up to the light to see if the filament is broken or use a multimeter or power supply to test it.

would i need upgraded shocks if i wanted to fit 60mm springs?

Yes, probably - the standard shocks are only suitable for as low as -40mm.

In any case, lowering beyond 35-40mm is ill-advised, as you'll encounter rapid tyre wear, odd handling and smashed sumps, etc.; the Sports were only lowered by -15mm.
