Defiantly not wankerd cam :D

if i slam my foot to the floor it it will change up at 4800rpm, if doing 55-60 mph and i plant my foot it wont kick down to 3rd

Nothing wrong with an auto 318i. The 1.8 M40 is a torquey liitle donk that works well with an auto. Mine was as good on fuel as any other 318i I had. The converter lock up at 56 makes it quite tall geared on the motorway.

Good call on the engine swap - mint and standard is the way to go on that, and it's probably eligible for classic insurance.

Ive used boyd before never had a problem with him. met him he seemed canny enough too.

Yep going back to college cant be doing with full time in retail anymore so boring and pathetic.

Only tried one classic insurance company and it was £800 i recon i can beat that, joys of turning 21

Alex I really like the way you are looking after this car. It's the little things like the new plates that make the car looks as good as it can. I agree that the engine swap isn't top of your list. If YOU like it the way it is then that's great and it's less hassle and cash to spend. Good luck with college by the way.

From the pic The sealant and the front edge of the "jacking pad" appear to be splitting - if it really is solid get it waxoyled and sealed back up quick - just hope water hasnt got in that gap and started to rot the floor through from underneath.

I fookin hate these "jacking pads"

You've got to attack that with a wire wheel before you do anything Alex, hopefully goes back to clean metal with some effort.

Today i thought i would tackle the leather and give it a good scrub, i used a leather brush and some autosol leather cleaner results are excellent

Afterwards i gave them a good coating in autoglym leather feed

Ive done the front half, its like black and white

Bottom Half Done

Backs have never been sat in, so a quick coating in autoglym leather conditioner.

Gave it its first, what i would call proper clean.

Firstly i Polished the roof, tailgate, rear bumper and front and rear pillars as these were not resprayed with the rest of the car. I used some Poor boys white Diamond polish, had it for ages suppose to be for white cars but hey ho its still good on dark ones.

after i had polished them part i used some Collinite 476s Super Double coat wax, first time ive used it and its not bad for the money.

I then did all the black bits with some Chemical guys new look trim gel. Wheels were done with good old wonder wheels.

Some Cheap £1 tyre shine on the wheels. :D

Also fitted a new Heater panel as original has been broken in half, also fitted my 13 button obc whilst i was there. Ive got a 318is coding plug installed, probably the nearest i'am going to find and reluctant to buy a new coding plug. Did that once before

Image

Excuse the interior its still not finished

Image

Ive also got some refurbished injectors to go in aswell.

It is, interior is apart as ive got some comps for the front some 90w rms 4" speakers  for the rear and an amp so dont want to put it all back yet.

Still got lots of odds and sods to do.

New washer jets and bits of hosing (used bits to fix a water pump on a corsa :chuckle:

Fix rear wiper washer.

Fit remote locking.

Fit car audio

fit new accelerator cable as its a bit stiff.

Fit new bumper trim on the front bumper.

Fit bonnet insulation

Adjust bonnet.

Do Cambelt.

Diff Oil

Fit front bumper brackets that go at the side, on wings (missing)

Screw the IS lip on no ones nicking this one :-x

Fit brake vent Ducts

I would call it finished when all thats done :D

Have you tried removing the accellerator cable & soaking it overnight in oil ? - Worked wonders for mine and improves drivability no end
