Cheers Dave - I don't know much about ICE - just that I want it to look as close as possible to OEM and sound goodKedge wrote:I'd still be fitting door tweeters Rob, sounds a lot better as the lift the sound up closer to you rather than just entertaining your feet.

Quality progress if it all goes to plan!! Dashboards aren't fun either. OEM all the way, looking forward to the photoscapri_rob wrote:Old dashboard removed today - what a bitchDuke137 should be delivering an un-cracked one on Sunday

Hopefully start putting all the interior back in properly next week

Yes because trying to thread the loom for the temp sensor and horn wiring through the grommet in the bulkhead was a nightmare.capri_rob wrote:Just a thought - while the dash is out and I can get at everything would now be a good time to fit an OBC if I can find one at the right price ?
More fookin expense

Nah keep fitters are staying Dan - I like emDanThe wrote:OBC FTL
Electric windows first surely!!??

I have noticed not all E30's have this clip ?Kedge wrote:I remember doing the dash on my old cab, don't think i ever managed to get that clip in the middle of the dash under the screen.

I can see the theory behind that but only worth the risk if you have the right gear to remove and refit the screen though surely?e30topless wrote:I have noticed not all E30's have this clip ?Kedge wrote:I remember doing the dash on my old cab, don't think i ever managed to get that clip in the middle of the dash under the screen.
Dash swap is quite easy, might sound odd but I highly recommend taking the screen out and dropping it in through there, it's far easier and it won't get bruised/caught on the steering column

Full kit with working backlight, stalk, gong, temp sensor, plug & play no fookin about ?e30topless wrote:oh and i have a few OBC kits knocking around

Which I don't - I reckon getting the new one back in will be simple compared to getting the old fooker outKedge wrote:I can see the theory behind that but only worth the risk if you have the right gear to remove and refit the screen though surely?e30topless wrote:I have noticed not all E30's have this clip ?Kedge wrote:I remember doing the dash on my old cab, don't think i ever managed to get that clip in the middle of the dash under the screen.

Go on tempt me

Can't believe how awkward the clutch M/C is to get at - the dash is out so you can sort of see everything a bit easier but after being upside down with my head in the footwell for half an hour with sweat dripping into my eyes I gave up trying to get the second bolt out. Managed to get the first one out but you can't get a spanner on the second one and you can't get a socket on it properly either as the throttle pedal linkage is all in the way even if you disconnect it - even a liberal soaking with harsh language didnt helpKedge wrote:Fun times ay mate, they are the sort of jobs that always seem to be an utter pain!

This is defo the easiest way,I did a repair job on my touring's n/s 'screen pillar that needed both the 'screen and dash out earlier this summer and I was suprised at just how much easier it was.e30topless wrote:
