Hi all. No updates lately as I hit an all time low with a major running issue. After finishing the car and wanting to do nothing but go for a drive for some unknown reason she wouldn't rev past 2500 rpm or when on boost. From the second week in july to date it's been at paul's rather poorly.
I hope to god I fall in love with this car all over again, but right now I'm simply not.
Watch this space I guess.

Best of luck fixing it mate, don't give it up - you will blatently love it when its running true. I forgot my Golf GTI for nearly two years raising my son and I never paid it a visit for a year and a half in its council garage
But the first time i connected the battery, poured fresh oil in the rocker...turned the key and there was the love I had straight back. I'm looking forward to hearing my 325i fire up for the first time after the engine is back together. Its funny how problems make it taste all sour inside, but then when it all connects together... its worth the heartache!
I'll check with the manager
Haha I've just seen that and checked in here!!Jhonno wrote:Going by COTM thread this must be done now.. Lets see some decent pics!

so.. a long awaited finished item is now sat on my drive. running issue sorted with a rather expensive dta s80 pro ecu lovingly tuned by paul over at circuit motors
i'll just upload the pics and let them tell the story,

I've just got back from my local airfield
. now i know how the top gear boys feel.
any way, before getting kicked off for acting like a complete loon thought i would take a few snaps. excuse the fact its dirty but we had a lot of fun.

apart from a dam good clean and polish everywhere, she is finished and fully road worthy. its been quite a journey this one and even though it cost me a packet to get it running I'm well happy with the out come. (thanks again paul)
its having a proper photo shoot in the new year so i'll post up the pics as and when, but for now I'm going to enjoy driving it

Clive,
So glad to hear you got this sorted. The car looks sublime, truly superb. Hope to see (and hear it) around locally some time.
Martin.

Wow! That's awesome. I can appreciate the time and effort, not to mention passion and cash, that's gone into this project.

well.... what a year this is turning out to be.
first of all the ecu dies for no reason so i ripped out that birds nest of shite wiring and installed a dta s80 pro (thanks paul)
all well and good so the odd finishing jobs began.
happy with my progress i fancied a drive..... 4 miles up the road and a very loud noise comes from the engine bay. mmmmm i thought, better get this home,
after closer inspection and much anger my supercharger for no reason had seized
seriously pissed off with the whole thing as all i want to do is enjoy a drive that lasts longer than 4 miles
i won't go into to much detail as to how frustrated i am but long story short a new charger was ordered. three weeks later and here it is

all ready for the weekend
I've still done a few odd jobs like the gauges/centre dash panel and the old heater box has been replaced for a lightweight unit.

any way, things are on the up and should be back on the road by sunday
