Z3 shifter - where? It's a E30 Sport item, ordered with an E30 part number. Indigo leather is / was standard. Door pods keep me awake at night but the jury is still out on them - nobody would begrudge me them given how lame E30 sound is. The maple knob is not staying but only I could pull it off and I may swap it in and out depending on how much of a bounder and a cad I feel on any given morning. Amp is hidden, totally invisible and head unit is a retro inoffensive model. I have modern needs from my old skool ride.

I've got an E36 rack to fit, I haven't driven an E30 for months until today and it really is awful - will get hold of an adapter kit from DaveM3.

What I do is not modding, it is art. What you do can get you on certain police 'lists' in some counties.

:D

I repeated it once.

Fuzzy - you should know that you cannot claim credit for a cheap and easy gag after the fact. I expect more of you.

BTW you should be ashamed, thinking that gear knob looks good.

You could have anything you wanted back in the day if you bullied the dealer enough.

To a degree but yes, indigo leather was not beyond the realms of impossibility.

Washed the car yesterday. Attempted to do it properly with carbon fibre nano-tec stuffs. The cheapo products are because I'm only really prepping it for a detailer.
Image

Using the two bucket method but I rinse my wash mitt with the hose so only need 1 bucket. You wouldn't believe what comes off the mitt after a few wipedowns - and that would normally go swilling around in your bucket and then back on your car.
Image

Pix of car pre-wash.

Image

Cleaned. I can feel all you lots stress melting away as you watch this. I love this kind of stuff, ironing etc etc. 8O It doesn't look any different TBH lol.

This is as clean as I could get the wheels after ages on each with a wire brush. I think these will be my summer wheels and the Alpinas go on now! The new centre caps make it look worse.
Image

Back inside under some fluoro lighting.
Image
Image

I love how Lazer Blue looks Black in certain light...
Image

Also fitted those streamlined secondary seals - I nice little touch and when I fit the bonnet seals will ensure the M42 get's me to the double-ton.
Image

Also got the mic wired in and ran down the A-Pillar, glovebox area can now be closed up - nice and tidy with new trim. These bits are always normally cracked or dangling or missing clips. This is all buttoned up and rattle free with a new light and switch too.
Image

It's growing on me... and you...
Image

Went to fit the glovebox and found this! Can I get them out with heat or shall I just find a new one. I think I have a spare...
Image

The obligatory parts photo fest:

Wondering whether to fit this third brake light - it's a new BMW one but would need the associated parcel shelf. For no other reason that it's rare and red looks so good against metallic blue.
Image

Parts stash being re-organized into relevant section and in order of mintyness.
Image

Brand new (old stock) Clifford Immobilser.

Control unit with labelled loom - remove tabs after fitting so the crook doesn't knows what does what.
Image

I have another thread where I've been talking about an OEM 'Alarm activated' LED mod - this is why:
Image

Can't have that on the dash so it will be fitted into this - a blank red E30 switch, looks perfect.
Image

Previous 12V fuse supply was a masterpiece of installation.

That's how I tried to fit but there's no way it will sit right as the loom isn't in the right place.

Dude the part I have (and Alex's) is not on that ETK page.

Let me rephrase the question - is the part I have the same as Alex's, regardless of whether it's in the right place?

No it isnt

The part shown in Alex's car running from the bottom to the top of the picture at the rear of the engine bay is clearly item 1 & 3 in the link.

You can even see where the diagnostic socket plugs in.........

I'm baffled with the part you have.
