So i've come home with both heads and both cams and a rather tasty headjob but thats for another car. Anyhow the head is back with 6 new exhaust valve guides if Sal gets it act together i'll have it running by this weekend but i'm doubt this will happen!

My camera is lost but it's all systems go! :D

just as well I had mine then

1st up we have the inlet port on the original C2 2.7 head.
Image

And heres the 2.5 heads inlet after the man from horsham fiddled with it. They appear to have taken more meat away either side of the valve guide mount.
Image

But heres the trouser tightening part

Original C2 2.7 combustion chamber
Image

And the reworked 2.5's
Image

Uncanny ain't it?
As a reference, heres a standard 2.5 chamber to compare
Image

Exhaust ports appear to have been left as was bar a slight clean up. As we discovered before the exhaust ports on the C2 head were perfectly round almost gasket matched.

Personally I reckon this is as close you're gonna get to an original C2 head.

No this is Si's head. I had to have a look before they went back to camberley.

Too strapped for cash at the mo. If i stumble on a good 325 head in the future I may get it done but I can't warrant the machining costs + a cam etc.

Nice finish on the ports, are you going to use standard pistons with those chambers?

^Yes thats what i was worried about, an extra 20ish cc in the head is going to drop the compression quite a bit.

pina slugs are 9.7 so the CR is in the rightish area for some power.

Undersealed the few plates needed in the drivers inner arch tonight. Big thanks to Powelly for lending me his compressor and Shultz underseal gun. I've found the camera! too. So hopefully with the seam sealer and primer and stonechip paint we can keep the rust away for a long time to come!

All the interior is refitted loving it 8)

Head is now at my dads as hes going to give it a flash up on the mating surface ready for the refit

Ah the diff! I sold the original LSd for the car in a quick moment of madness (3.91) and then thought maybe that was a bad idea but........I've got this 3.73. So in it went! I mainly wanted to see what they are like as i've never had one before and the extra RPM in each gear and slightly lower cruising RPM's is going to be a welcome. This has come from a 115k auto car, low milege auto LSD's are where its at!

Also i've changed the backplate for a spare i had with the tougher ZM3 diff bush fitted

In she popped, fell back in this one!
