I thought you had new inlet gaskets on it mate?

They are silly money from the stealers, my mate Aidy bought a set last week as we were going to fit an M50 inlet to his 328i (pishing down on Saturday morning and hung over stopped that). £6 each from BMW for some poxy rubber bands, grrrrr.

That sounds naughty when it comes on cam

I may just use take it off and gasket seal it with some sylicone based gear I have.

I am going to ring yoda after my tea. Ask him what's the best form of attack. :D

Do not use a silicone sealant on the inlet to head join. Just make sure the head is clean and the rubber seals are in good clean condition and seated correctly.

All gaskets were complete on the inlet manifold. On first inspection they looked fine. Popped them out and one was thinner, and a different colour slightly. So on the phone to yoda and ones in the post. Cheers Dan.

Also the man himself has made me an OEM airbox bracket. Fooking legend mate. 8)

With a bit of luck I could be finished this biatch tomorrow

Mate you don't know how hard it's been to resist. Once this air leak is fixed it's in for test. Then all I need is the 1st of the month for tax.

I've just checked mate, you can tax an untaxed vehicle with the rent to start the next month 2 days beforehand.

So that sounds like Saturday 26th Feb mate :)

Just had a re-think, 2 days beforehand would mean 27th (sunday) so you're gonna have to wait until Monday 28th dude

I would try to limit the amount of time you run the engine, especially for short periods when cold, until the engine has been run in.

All them rich cold starts and short running times will do it no favors.

I bought my inlet manifold off an eBay braker. This will have been over a year ago. Without really checking as it's sat on a shelf till I needed it. As one of the gaskets is wrong although they all looked ok whilst they were fitted. I now know it's a 320 inlet grrrr! Obviouslly it was advertised as a 325 item.
I wonder what this thing is going to be like once I get the right manifold on it and have it mapped 8O

I have one sorted but need to replace it so, if anyone has one for sale please let me know. Cheers :D

the port sizes are about half the size on the 2.0 manifold. but they do look the same

My local srappy always has 2 or more in there but they want £40 a pop for M50 inlets.

This shows the difference.

Without the gaskets its less obvious though

320 manifold, left is the 320 gasket right is the 325 one

Well i have a "spare" in the garage right now with TB and the big pipe. So if i don't get one i've got one get me! :o

You want that instead, saves me going up there as i think they're c**ts as i threw some e36 cruise bits at them last time i was in there as they wanted £30 for an ECU and stalk 8O i paid £20 for the whole kit out of the same place a few months before, but i'm off topic.

Not sure on postage cost for it

Right, I have made some good progress this week.

Posted the pics up on the runboards zone but it would be rude not to update this biatch.

Manifold and airbox bracket came from the hero that is Danthe. Fitted it manifold and had it running perfectly straight away. In for test on Saturday. Straight through obviously. Then taxed it Monday. Since then they have been chucking salt on the roads so it's been no where. I have had it out and about though. Done about 50 miles and it's amazing to drive.

It wants to be sideways all the time!

From no revs in second under medium stabage it's out. Basically every corner and it's stepping out. That's in the dry with 225,40x16 T1rs on the back.

Once the weather sorts its self out it's getting a good run out.
