If you had an M30, you could do what Rav did and fit an early 316 cluster with a clock in place of a rev counter. Could turn the odometer into a calandar for those pod runs..........E30BeemerLad wrote:How long did it take you to sort the rev counter mate, I really should get mine working.

As I was leaving work I took a few pics of how it is sitting. Everything is finished now. I just needs a few tweaks to finish. There is a tick over back fire through inlet issue to sort. I think it's an air leak. Going to have the ecu fault codes clear this week and see what that throws up. It will have the rings bedded in tomorrow fingers crossed. iPhone picks so not the best.

Thanks guys.
I am close now buts it's the last bits that are the hardest for me. Nuts and bolts are easy. Fault finding gets right on my nerves. I will get there.

It has been painted in 2 PAC. The bloke who did it is really good. He admitted he didn't add enough adative? and he would do it again if I wanted. I wanted satin.
I quite like it but if I want in re doing I can. I will see how I feel.
It's the least of my problems ATM.

Hope you get the cough/ burping sorted mate, I'm the same as you, other than wiggling wires and scratching my arse, I'm hopeless at fault finding.
When you've been tooling up & down the road bedding the rings in, does it feel like it pulls clean?

Chromie`s are very much in at the moment. Im still a die hard tech 2 fan but i love the sleeper look of the chromies, it has to be a wolf in sheeps clothing though, 316`s just dont cut it.

When I came into E30's I couldn't see past a tech2 kit, but it's pre-facelift all the way for me now.
Same with MK2 Golfs etc, I'd have a small bumper car over big bumper stuff now. Original lines for me.

Brakes are WMS 4 pots up front, standard discs on the rear, reds all round with braided hoses and clio servo.
Chromies FTW. They need to be naughty though. They have more of a classic car look. Instead of just an old bmw

Standing under this car the other weekend it was impressive the gear that's fitted to it, no scrimping by Dez on this one, and I'm jealous of the condition of the rear arches, ya coooont.

Rings have been bedded in.
There is no fault codes on the ecu. Tried and few things and spray a bit of brake cleaner about to find any air leaks. It's got a big air leak between inlet to head. New gaskets tomorrow and it should be golden. Just glad I found the problem.
When it comes on cam (S52's) at 3k, it spins the back wheels (225,40x16 toyo T1r's) in the dry
