Cheers Baz,
After flicking through alot of paint matching pages from a catalogue in halfords i've found a very close, if not identical paint mach to one of my centre caps. I'd like to invest in some tyres too before i get the hartges refurbed to make advantage of the free fitting and balancing from the wheel refurb place
Washed it again today too
Photo shows the dent in the front valance a little bit more too

Hmmmm fail to be honest.

FAIL
Going up a long steep hill this morning and the fecking throttle cable snapped. Its a OEM part and its still in warrentee. BMW have ordered me a new one for free but said that they wouldnt fit it for free becuase "the engine isnt for the chassis" otherwise they would do it for free
And nowhere locally has a throttle cable in stock either for the mean time! What a pain the in arse

Thanks for the offer bud, I'll just have to wait for the bmw one to arrive. North wales is a bit far to drive for a cable! Thankgod for eko tbh. He might be able to help me out, he'll be changing the lambda for me anyway which i couldnt get off to save my life yesterday!
I've not heard of the throttle cable snapping on these conversions though

Big thanks to Eko for saving my ass by putting a tempory measure throttle cable on the car until the new cable arrived and then fitting that
And a thanks to monkey to sorting me out with a spare cable to keep in the car for if it happens again - not an experience i want to go through again.
A lovely dent has appeared in the passanger rear quater too which looks like a kid has done with the handlebars on his bike
And my waterproof HID ballast... isnt waterproof - lovely
I've picked up a new tripod for my DSLR camera, so i took a quick video on a point and shoot camera to try it out. The camera hasnt picked up the growl of the engine though
The windows are all up too, cabin noise ftw!

It will be better than last time - its just a case of if it will meet its "on paper" expections.eko wrote:That new filter will surely make a difference?Cook318IS wrote:I'm abit nervous about tommorow... its back on the rolling road again!I'm hoping for a better result than last time. The results are in... and its down on power
Although there is no dip in torque or BHP now with the chip.
Before:

After: (no longer got a restrictive airfilter, new lambda + chip)

I've got a couple of photos to still upload too

People always bad mouth cone filters.. BUT.. My turd made 297bhp with an unshielded K&N, and a dodgy exhaust! On a reputable dyno..

I think i was the only person today who actually made a loss.
The ITG filter its got on now made a difference to the old k+n one i had on it.
The dyno i use is very accurate and is known locally for being pretty spot on.

It's a speedtouch chip.
He's offered a refund becuase of the dissapointing on paper results. but i'll keep the chip anyway becuase its nice having a 7k limit and it does seem to drive better. It actually feels better than it used to... but dyno says no

I like this photo, it makes the car look clean. It almost justifies washing it in 3degrees at 8am

epic lol of the day:

Paul, could it be a case of the rolling road out of calibration?
Either that or the chip.
Got to say though you surprised me and Andy when you pulled away from mine this, certainly didnt look or sound underpowered

I can't see the calibration being too far out, everybody else seemed to get pretty much spot on power. clio 182 which never has 182bhp had something like 179bhp - the dyno chap said he hasn't seen one get that close to 182bhp from standard yet
Even if it was out of calibration i should of still seen an increase surely? maybe it needs an s50 manifold?
Sounds great at 7krpm doesn't it!

Paul, did you have chance to warm your oil up given you were waiting for so long, thick oil could have lost you a bit!Cook318IS wrote:I am disappointed, im not going to lie. I had to wait for 3 hours in the freezing cold for mine to get dynoed
Ps) Where's the dyno?

what exhaust are you running? a standard e36/e34 m50 325i/525i surely has a bigger dia exhaust than a e30 system?

Its m52 manifolds to a 3 piece m20 'zaust. The e30 stuff sounds louder than the e36 stuff but i dont know if that has anything to do with centre box size. OB's m50 made about 194bhp on the same dyno and he is using the same setup as me AFAIK.pauldeacs wrote:what exhaust are you running? a standard e36/e34 m50 325i/525i surely has a bigger dia exhaust than a e30 system?

S50 manifold sounds nice, but is waaay to big for an M50
It looks good dude, but boy does it need lowering!!
