Cheers Guys!

Dee I'll be throwing the Recaros in the M3, considering retriming in houndstooth to match the rear bench and doorcards,
The sunroof tray still needs replacing but i have a new one ready at the dealers,
Also, considering shifting the servo location 10-20mm left for the mark 2 clio jobbie, though i seem to remember Ant saying it was ok in the stock location?
I'll probably be shifting the ACT alloys on now as they wont clear the bigger brakes, its a shame as they really suit the car i think,
Either way i'm a happy Goose

Thankfully not quite that much, but they still saw me coming (must have been that conspicuious red moordoor council daily) to thetune of £345,bmwsport wrote:How much is the sunroof tray now at the dealers? the last time i checked they were mega money ... £400+ iirc
Also picked up the aircon box gasket/seals so almost ready to recombobulate that,
Amazing amount of progress with the shell, its been in primer for the better part of the year so everything that was going to drop back should have by now, no rush job here!
I need a team of highly trained professionals to help me put the sunroof mech back in, any volunteers? (-payment in beer)

when i came to putting mine back together after painting, i needed lots of little things like clips, plugs, lights etc. so i picked up a cheap pre-facelift breaker.
so when i was putting my sunroof back together, i stripped the sunroof out of the breaker to see how it all went together.

LOL! yeah i was thinking i was going get lynched if pictures didn't appear soon,Dezzy wrote:Looking great mate. About time with the pics!
As it stands i'll only be lynched for RHD, colour, engine, etc etc
Speaking of which no one has mentioned the job done for the rhd conversion, i'm really pleased with the job myself, damn near factory,

Indeed Glenn, luckilly i have BBB close by for referance/parts supply where required, i think i remember how to place the components well enough, its the alignment of the running track cables thats going to be the bitch me thinks, glenn wrote:when i came to putting mine back together after painting, i needed lots of little things like clips, plugs, lights etc. so i picked up a cheap pre-facelift breaker.

I'm tempted by Marlboro war-paint...

I think it would do well pulling up to work with a building full of eco friendly tree hugging types that like windmills and renewable energy...

Love the Marlboro paint scheme but I think to really pull it off you need a cage otherwise it might look a little try hard. IMO.
Race car liveries need a cage and buckets to pull it off.

Possibly a half cage and i could jog on the rear bench,
Its more an idle thought than me ordering the appropriate stickers, besides given this car's prior altercations with armcos it probably wont be going on a track,
Wondering what to do with the alpina's, nogaro centers, silver standard or white,
Any thoughts?

Is the car going to be white? White or silver wheels if so, not Nagaro.
Silver would be my choice though.

The metalwork to the bulkhead is very neat,I just bunged patches over the surplus holes from the inside on mine, well, the carpet hides it all...
The servo relay box (inside the cabin)will need a bracket fabricating to stop the bulkhead flexing under braking, some seem to bolt up to the tunnel, others to a bracket on the bulkhead.
Sunroof.
Just swapped in a power roof kit to the touring,it's the bits I robbed from the rusty 4 door that was the base for my 2.7.
Fit up the guide tubes first, forward of the apurture, the motor mount has several 8mm bolts into the roof rail, and there's a single 8mm bolt at the ends of the tubes as well.
Pass the operating cables in from the apurture,so they feed right round the tubes, mine were complete with all the gear,so I just had to get 'em in the correct side.
Postion the operating gear fully forward and tilted up,check with your tape measure to make sure both are in the same position.
Wire the motor up,and using the switch work out when the motor is fully forward and 'tilted'(motor clutch has 4 positions, closed, tilt, closed, fully back)Pop the motor onto it's mount and test, then fiddle with the cover plates to get them all in the correct place!
Do not forget that the head liner needs to tuck under the edges, and the roof liner goes in first.
Sounds simple, took me two days of fiddling to get mine working properly, and those stainless bits on the guides/covers have wickedly sharp edges, and the claret always ends up on the roof liner...

I would love to help with the fitting of the electric sunroof but Beardymat did mine in about 30mibs flat. He fit popouts, black headlining, power sunroof and new chrome window strips in about 6-7 hours with me and Lee distracting him. Hero IMO!
If the shell has had some work, to the point of not being keen on track day usage. Would a full cage not be a consideration for safety reasons? We are easily squashed after all

I'm happy the shell is solid, i don't want to go fully caged as i'm not really looking to track it,
Alpine white 3 body, alpine white 3 alpinas? Not sure if i want to go that route, really need a photoshop for perspective...
White on White is a massive no no IMO.
Fresh silver (none of that sh1tty sparkly laquer the bruv's love) for the alpina's and nice fresh Alpine White for the shell.
Btw I am very jealous!
Alpine White ftw

That car matches mine's initial spec heathed leather engine morsels however my shell does not have the rear aerial/mounting holes,
This car also has ACT alloys that i think really suit it,
I have read that feature before.
Any more updates?
