And soon it will burrow its way through that giganto-rot on the other side! You should of cornered the bugger and showered it in that pigeon turd you make!! (cuckoo-cuckoo)
I'll check with the manager
Well council just got a bit more council! Refurbed these Bullseye headlights myself and painted the rings black, mercdriver (cheers) smoked the light units themselves in the spray shop so it was done properly, I’m pleased with the finish though they are a touch darker than I would have liked and they look darker in the photo's anyway....
Just offered them up for now:

And thanks to Zaust on here I thought this was a fitting badge, even though its not on the road yet lol

Did a bit more welding also but didn’t take any pics as its not finished and a bit untidy at the minute. It keeps fecking raining whenever I have any time for this heap of shyte but never mind, must try harder!
Comments welcome, even if you think the headlights are sh1t, I will be avoiding eyebrows and keeping the kidney chrome lol
Partially council FTW

How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

Kind of agree, probably shouldn't of done the last coat of candy black. Sorry mateDuke137 wrote:pleased with the finish though they are a touch darker than I would have liked
If people wanted to know how i 'candy blacked' them it was pretty easy. Prepped as usual, then mixed 'clear base' with 'jet black' 50:50 in water based paint. Built up over 3 coats (should of just done 2) and then lacquered them accordingly. And tadaa! Council chariot approved lamps!
Wont be doing that dispicable shyte to my car though
I'll check with the manager

They're proper council!
The Chavriot is looking nice... Is that a light shade of Ravs cab?
Personally, I think the lights are too dark, whats the projection of light like with them being so dark? Not sure if it effects it or not in anyway when you smoke lights you...

Well out of the car they look "lightly smoked" but when I offered them up they look black
Might look a bit better with all the grills in but I can't find them at the minute lol
Don't know about projection, chavriot has no wiring let alone a battery to test them
I just think its funny, looks like it has sunglasses on

Mig-athon? Its more a vauxhall vivaro than an e30 the amount of metal going in that bad boy 'sunglasses spec' chavriotcapri_rob wrote:Is there an engine in this turd yet Ferg or are you still on a mig-athon ?

Effectively it is like laminex but 50/50 base coat and laqueredRav335uk wrote:laminex?
I say effectively because its painted on the outside of the lenses. What do you think?
Yep still welding when ever I can get the time mate to be honest, its gonna be slow as I have never done anything like this before so I do a lot of arse and head scratching during the progress

Small update on this, started removing some rear end parts, the prop and diff were all still bolted up as was the rear beam and suspension. The beam is actually still in at the moment that is tomorrow’s job as I took the fuel tank out today and relieved it of its approx 15L of fuel (bonus). The tank is now for sale in the for-sale section
I have a 63L tank to go on instead due to wiring the car with a facelift loom, thanks to kedge I got a good 2nd hand one
Gave it a good hard wire brushing with the knot brush and galvanised it....

Used this ”a318iS in a can”a from eng-weld to protect it before I will coat it in hammerite when I can draw up the will power.

Also got sick of looking at the annoyance that is permanently on the boot lid....
Before

After

That’s better! But now I need either a heck or new boot lid ”“ or both (Excuse the taped up bolt holes for now)
Things to do (short term)
Clean up the 3.64 medium case diff / rear beam / trailing arms etc
Bolt all the above up with new bushes / handbrake cables / pads etc
New rear shocks sadly as these are fecked (more expense) as were the top mounts lol
Re-install the 63L tank and connect it up
Bolt the rear end to the car
Have noticed that the N/S/R inner arch is a little more fruity than I remember and I think that will require attention sooner rather than later... The rest of the car is still pretty good, I am still pretty impressed with it to be honest as 26 year old chariots with shit paint jobs go.
Still got a mig-a-thon on the O/S/F end and battery tray as well as a bit at the top corner of the inner bulkhead/scuttle on the N/S/F which I am still unsure how to cut away
Comments welcome

Spoilerless I think.
Where'd you pick up the galv spray stuff? Need to do this really to my tank before I switch them over on the chromie. Just one of them jobs I really cant be arsed to try and tackle in one weekend.

Ahhh, nice one.
Thought you might have picked it up locally or something, didnt think to search the company
Heckspoilers are cool, I'm just really liking the spoilerless look at the moment... But doubt I'd change mine.

Dropped the beam out now and underneath the car doesn't look all that bad. Sadly, I need to patch up to the right of the axel stand in the picture where the inner arch meets the cill. Considering getting the beam powdercoated as I am not sure I can be arsed to clean it and hammerite it

Good work Ferg, fancy doing mine this week?
Think i'm going to get mine powder coated along with some front struts and cross member!

Dave where are you going to get it all powder coated mate, I don't know who to go to locally and you ain't that far from me so I'd be interested to know?
Oh and that Tank had a couple of hours with the angle grinder and knot brush, it came up fine mate, not new but plenty of years it this yet

That i haven't got a clue about to be honest, was considering asking Rav since i only work a few miles from his. Though i'm sure there must be somewhere more local that can do it.
Good news on the tank, i need a decent angle grinder!!
What you going to do with the underside, i'm contemplating striping it back past the stoned chip stuff and redoing all of that.

Let me know about coating then mate if poss, but I might do an internet search in a min and fire off some emails and make some calls tomorrow
You are brave if you take all of that Stone chip off! I'm leaving that well alone bar a few patches that need re-covering.
You may as well get the shell acid dipped if your going to do it?

Yea, will do fella!
I was just thinking that from when Diddler scraped it all off from under his moredoor. Maybe best to just give it a real good clean and a new coat instead then?

Yeah I might do that, give it a clean but then again a fresh coat of waxoyl over the top will make it a lot more pleasing on the eye?
I don't know much about this type of thing I have to confess.
You done much on yours of late Dave?

Way out your depth again you sh1t stainDuke137 wrote: I don't know much about this type of thing I have to confess.
I would mint it all up with degreaser and contemplate banging it all again with the stone guard on top of the old stuff to make sure theres enough on and then waxoyl the nail to get rot proofing to its optimum performance. Personal preference and ideas
I'll check with the manager
