thats the thread pertaining to the tyre size and fitment with these wheels, what do you think Dan?

Wern't you running similar size rears with far less arch clearance than our M3's?

RLX was very accomodating without the springs :D

I ran 235/40 in the arse of RLX ok.. Only rubbed on extreme compression on 1 side. Weirdly 245/35 might fit better due to the smaller (correct) dia

I see,

Still need to decide spring choice, i dont want to go low, i don't want coilovers, just B8's and a sensible spring choice for the s50 up front thats complimented by the back,

Any thoughts? :)

The guy who does/did fibreglass panels on here (M3BOB?) sells a fibreglass bonnet which uses the original mounts.

Not sure I'd bother though, it's only going to shave a few kgs off - there's no hiding the uber-anchor under the bonnet!

didnt realise you had carried on with this goosie, good on you for going ahead in the face of criticism. After driving my S50`d M3 for nearly a month now i can confirm its an awesome combination, the car is now as fast as it looks. I can also confirm that from my point of view the LHD thing isnt really an issue and adds to the fun although it took a few hours behind the wheel to get to grips with it. Had a moment last week whilst doing a quick gearchange where my left hand instinctively went for the change whilst still gripping the steering wheel which was kind of interesting but otherwise its all good. I was contemplating a RHD conversion before dropping in the engine as i thought i really wouldnt get on with it but my reasoning in the end was that i wanted to alter the M3 shell as little as possible if at all so it could always be returned to wheezing four pot status in the future if anyone really wants to (not me :D ) as it stands i only deleted the coil bracket and airbox bracket which can both be easily reinstated if required. I know youre on with it now but i just thought id share my experience.

Thanks Matt,

I think returning to LHD and s14 would be cost prohibitive with this shells past lives, it'll never be a matching numbers backed up by complete history car,

Even if returned to factory spec it wouldant fetch unmolested prices and even if it could (in said trim) i wouldant want to sell it on...

You need to get some new pics of yours up dude, enjoyed the thread you put up!

So far as bodywork goes its had its right quarter replaced, jacking points, scuttle, afm & coil brackets deleted as well

Still to do: replace sunroof tray, repair to left side rear sill and fabricate a bracket for the glovebox to mount onto.

As i said previously the exterior is in primer and straight, sport evo front wings are also sitting on in primer, i really hope i can get some pictures up for everyone soon!

just put a small update up as it happens. Dont know if your car has the external fuel pump or if youre intending on keeping it but i have a nearly new 3 bar high flow one which i bought in error if its any good to you, should have the correct one for mine soon. It would suit the b30 from what i understand which is what i believe youre fitting.

What have you got planned for the brake servo and exhaust manifold?

I found the pedal feel quite hard with the golf servo, i got used to it but it could have been improved.

From what i have heard, clio 2 servos give a better feel but i have yet to try one.

i would say thats true barry, i drove busters car back with the golf servo but fitted a clio one to the M3 and the pedal is much much better.

Matt, which aircon hoses did you use for your setup?

I figure e36 hoses for compressor to condenser and compressor to bulkhead,

Or did you just swap the compressor flanges to the e30 hoses?

Not done the aircon retrofit yet, partly because i ran out of time and partly because i dropped my climate heater box on the floor and broke it so i need another aircon box :x

you need to use all the e30 pipes as the e36 ones go in different directions and wont connect to the e30 components when they get there anyway, just get the ends swapped where they meet the pump to the e36 types.
