One from the Sytners meet the other week. Some nice cars in attendance as per, only 2 e30s mind! A shame this meet clashed with Santa Pod...but the gent who built the majority of the 80's UK Alpina's was in attendance, so nice to meet the man who built the car...especially with his stamped initials still present on the engine. He was also able to put a few urban myths to bed RE: specs and numbers.

Wheel badges obviously not stuck down correctly; First journey after wheel refurb.

Thread revival time, it's been a while!
The convertible has had some attention recently after not turning a wheel for 2 years.
Interesting car this...imported to England by a German chap in its early years, it had a full RHD conversion at BMW in 1989.
A nicely specced royal blue metallic/natural leather 320i convertible, it then received some Hartge treatment, the "H3 package" - I was a bit sceptical at first so investigated this before purchase. Birds describe this as a recommended approach rather than a homologated conversion, which in tuner fashion could go as far as the owner wanted...the additions of this one compromise of: cylinder head conversion, camshaft, cam cover, ecu, dampers, springs, roll bars, strut brace, 16" wheels, exhaust tip, steering wheel, gear knob and badging, so a fairly comprehensive amount of morsels.
I've owned the car for about 15 years, with the clock showing about 75k. Being as thought it hadn't been driven for about 2 years, I thought I'd get Pete (sweep) to give it a thorough going over. The car was in fine fettle, but to cut a long story short...the service and check over ended up turning into a full engine rebuild with a low miles ETA bottom end to complement the Hartge bits.
The original springs were just too firm for a cab IMO so at the detriment of originality new oem 15mm Motorsport cab springs went on...a nice compromise.
Few pics in a dark garage, so not the best quality...

Period 1989 ice...

Looking for a Blaupunkt bqa80 or bqa160 amp if anybody has anything???
Next up, I've decided on a manual conversion for the C2, all the parts are together it's just finding the time.

Looks great!
I have both a BQA80 and BQA160 amps.
I also have a BEQ S2 swan neck equaliser if that's of interest?
