Not pic whored in a while so i though i'd add todays pics

Got up today with the intention of giving the car a good clean (not cleaned it for about 1 month :o: ).

Looked out the window to see this....

Image

Image

Went outside and found my hose pipe frozen :(

So i took the car for a drive instead, got home later when it'd cleared up, and the hose pipe had cleared.

Gave the car a good wash and wax, and tried out some Meguiars trim detailer (Very impressed :D ).

Anyhow about 3/4 hours later i'd finished and took the car to a nicer scenery to take some pics....here they are...still missing the IS Lip, and the tech 2 not finished yet, so have to make do :(

Love this pic

Wish i hadn't done that now, scattered the weeds from the ground onto the bumper :(

Got my tripod through so had to try it out.. :D

I wanted to test it at sunset but ended up taking the pics in complete darkness so had to find somewhere with light.

Still new to the tripod business so some shots show the tripod in the foreground :o:

The day i went to pick my tech2 kit up it pissed it down....it ended up getting washed away.

In a weird twist of fate my mate found it washed up on the side of the road on our journey home.

I'm still trying to repair it...it's in bad shape :(

I've hoped that i'd get the tech 2 kit sprayed and fitted quickly, but have had alot on my plate, and it keeps getting put off.

Will push on with it in the next few days though. :D

Wheels cleaned, and are nearly perfect now...(shocked with the amount of weights used to balance them...weigh alot more than my bro's Borbet A's :( )

Not a great pic, but i'm polishing the lip/dish and this pic shows the bit that've i've done so far (near the bottom of the wheel)

Will get more pics up once the 1st wheel is done.

was looking at the pictures and thinking i recognise that arch way..... then looked at your location. I once got lost looking for my cousins house in derby, must have reversered into and driven through arch at lest 4 times before i found his house.

Nice pics by the way

LOL!

The wall is the original wall where the old prison used to be. Only bit left standing!

Makes a good scenery in summer (what we have of it anyway!)

The bbs's where supposed to have been refurbed, but that kind of stalled, and they've just been sitting in my garden for the past few months. Once i've finished my borbets i'm going to get the bbs's done.

Tripods are definately a must, and for the price i paid i can't complain with the one i've got!

Just need to make sure that you don't have the light coming from behind the camera or you'll end up with a shadow of the tripod in the picture :o:

ride height looks weigh off as i had the handbrake up whilst changing the wheels and hadn't dropped it yet so the rear looks like it's on stilts. Did settle down afterwards.

Already swapped back over to the bbs though

LOL i know...but they're not staying on (already been changed) as they don't clear the calipers and i refuse to use horrible spacers.

I wanted them as they're so much lighter than the Borbet t's and even lighter than the bbs wheels, but the shape of the rear of the wheel means it catches even though it has exactly the same offset as my borbet t's and they don't catch!

I could grind the rear of the wheels down a tiny amount (off the edge not face) and make them so they match the borbet t's, but don't really fancy doing that. And i definately don't want to grind the calipers down.

What do you all think? Is it worth all that hassle to get the wheels to fit without spacers? Would you do it?

I can't get pics up so this is my best attempt at explaining....

borbet A...

borbet t

basically the face that mounts to the hub has a angled edge on the borbet t, but a flat edge on the borbet a. :o:

I can't stand spacers.

They always seem to cause vibration!

I have to say the car looks better in the pics than it does in real life. The pics don't pic up all of the damaged area's in the paint. I'm planning to give it a full respray later this year, but that's got to wait for now.

Here's a wheel update.

The Borbet T's now have a polished dish.

While the dish did have a good shine before it now has more of a mirror finish.

That and the curbing has also been removed as much as possible :o:

They're not perfect, but look alot better than before.

I ended up putting a few scratches into the face when buffing, so i'm considering spraying the centre's. Thinking about doing them black as i don't lile how dull the silver looks against the polished dish.

Work for BT so was at the main exchange in the city center if you know it. Don't normally get to Derby so don't know the street names around there.

Paint work looked fine from where i was standing :) , know what you mean though every E30 i've had has looked great from a distance but spend hours pointing out all the defects in the paint lol

They're staying as they are for now as i had to get them back on the car.

My kid decided he will help me refurb them so he decided to clean them with a washing up sponge (the one's with the green schotbire material on one side).

Had to repolish 2 of the rims, so decided to put them on as they are, and may change the colour of the centre's later in the year.
