This car is like a Corvette, which takes restoration to the highest level you can imagine. Only the correct paint and correct application, with the correct amount overspray is considered. Brake servos must have only the slightest coverage of black paint, no undercoat etc, with rust present and correct! I love this car, the colour combo, the hardtop, the interior. The bar is set!
Selection of BMW hardtops available, please ask!

So basically you have to buy whole car worth of new parts from dealers and you will be somewhere close

I love how you have even recreated the factory stamps (like the S on the diff). Wow

lol, that would have been easy, unfortunately, not many parts were still available from BMW and had to be restored.

Tell me when to stop, lol.
All of the fasteners, pipes, brackets, etc. were re-plated in their original yellow zinc. Fuel tank was stripped an restored.

I'm sure I saw a post in the external ads section with a 0 mile 323i that mentioned some kind of grease marks on the diff from factory handling - in addition to the 's' . Something like a black ring or cup-shape.

The S designates a limited slip differential.
I've owned a few E30's from new, and I don't recall seeing grease marks on the diff but I'm sure it was very possible they did on some cars. On my car they used white check paint marks on the brake lines and ABS module. I've seen it on some others but not every car has it.

I remember the car. That was a mark left from where it had been jacked up

Nice job ! Did you paint all the brake and fuel hard lines ? I thought new parts came supplied in black now.

PS. Cant have enough pics , they are proving very helpful in figuring out the correct layout for my own rebuild.

It was the underbody protective wax which was sprayed over various parts which had a trolly jack rubber pad imprint in the wax.

Some interior shots-before.
What gets me is how neglected overall the car was. I couldn't imagine treating a car this rare like this.

Lotus white when new was fabulous. I remember a Calypso Red car in the showroom at Orfords of Ruislip when new with that interior, delicious!. Keeping that leather looking like good, and using the car was a massive challenge, those pics above still look quite good for a 20 year old interior in my opinion.

Lovely attention to detail. Are the oil cooler lines painted, and is that original ? I just assumed they would be plated and yellow.
Thanks
