I am slow. This is mainly down to laziness but I will try harder.

Not much happening with this biatch this week.
The lad who is doing oil seals has just started an new business (fixing BMW) and is working 16 hour days. He has done exhaust but hasnt and wont get inlet done till monday/tuesday. This is annoying but nothing i can do..
I have fitted the M52 goodies to the motor today just to make me feel like i am making progress. I used M52 powersteering pump, oil filler housing and alternator because they are half the size and weight of M50 stuff

Oh and i got this back from the powdercoaters today should go nice with the rear beam

What do we think guys

you're a tart, end of
I have never been that bothered about cleaning everything before. The problem starts when you get the first thing coated or clean the first alloy casing. Once one bit is newly coated/cleaned everything has to be.
I am now officially now a tart. Fooking great. Motor's looking sexy though isn't it haterz.

@ Lee it's Mark Armond or Jim Somerville or nowt.
@ Jhonno that M3 better be propperly tarted or I will be upset.
@ Mike your touring would be 100% better M50/52'd and it's nice already.

I was thinking about painting it as well mate. Coating will protect and like you say paint will fill the pitting. I am a tart you see.DanThe wrote:You should have painted the diff Dezzy, it would have filled up the corrosion pitting better

Dez, your becoming one of the clean/OEM homo's with the amount of cleanliness on show here. (Yes that means you Dan/Barry/Trev).
I promise that anything that I make for you will look the tits.
, just to keep up the standard of course.

I have a powdercoated rear beam and the trailing arms are getting done too. I know, I know I'm a tart. Chris I am really looking farward to getting my freshly powdered wheels on it.
@ Alex cheers mate. It will be about when finish don't you worry about that. Maily on dry day though. I am using it daily at the minute and it's killing me.

Right from Si's advice about the standard exhaust being too small I am making a custom system from M52 front pipes, ballance pipe middles and back box. My welding isn't the best looking but good penetration and most will be dressed
I am using 54mm pipe for all the pipes so should flow ok.
Shouldn't be too loud as using standard boxes.
Pics arnt great as I was loosing light.

In the pics they can look a bit off but in real life they sit perfect. I am really please so far with my efforts. The hole thing will be painted mat black once finished. What do we think?

I haven't got that far yet mate. When I do one side of the twin pipe will be getting blanked off and the other side joining to the single front pipe. I reckon it will give me 10 bhp extra from the oil dripping beast.DanThe wrote:Whats it sound like with the M10 Dez

Finished the exhaust for now (till the M50 is in)
Just a few pics of it fitted. What do you think?

And a few of it on my way home. Needs a wash like

Oh and I got the head back (finally) this afty so mo day it's going on

Me too!Simon13 wrote:thats gonna help no end that exhaust, i hope i'm right and it helps your engine makes good power!
Thanks for the coms gents
Si when you look at them together it's obviously going to help. Looks cool to IMO
ZRCan't really see but how it sits underneeth.
It will have to straight through boxes in the straight pipes once the M50 is fitted as I want it to be quiet. I am pleased with my efforts though.
As I am a tart it's all coming off Monday so I can waxoil and paint the system.

She's nearly there dude.
