Cool project, and yes, our cars look alike
Why did you go for the Z3M diff ?
I have seen this project in the flesh and have to say its going to be one mean mother trucker when its done. Apart its current use as a shed on wheels at the moment (its full of his millions of bits of e30) its looking sweet!
Dude, I noticed earlier you said the recaros were virtually sold, but werent they still in your car? You changed your mind or lost a buyer for them. If your still thinking of selling I might be interested if your in no rush to shift them!

Proud member of the PARDON? club!
Potential buyer hasn't contacted me so if someone waves some cash in my face i'll take it. I have another interior lined up for it.robbo86 wrote:I have seen this project in the flesh and have to say its going to be one mean mother trucker when its done. Z3M diff was all ready in donor vehicle but is a 3.15 ratio so this is why it has been used.Helleberg wrote:Cool project, and yes, our cars look alikeWhy did you go for the Z3M diff ?
I dont have anywhere to finish it off.ricey46 wrote:Come on you whats happening with this??
Not a huge amount to get it MOT'able but it needs plenty of other stuff doing to finish it.ricey46 wrote:Thats a bugger, how much you still got left to do??
Its not so much that mate, the car is full up with frag and has frag stored on top of it so its not ideal.spook wrote:Wrap up warm Barry and get around that lock up![]()
I hate cold weather
Not a lot but i hope to have it ready for an MOT in Feb.mikeyboy wrote:whats happening with this Barry, iv been off the forum for ages now!
Then its going up for sale.
Have you fitted your tech 2 kit yet?
mate the tech 2 kit is in the garage along with the tech 1 spoiler i need to get fitted, my insurance claim is still not sorted yet and i could pay to get it all done but dont want to until my insurance is sorted and im even wondering whether to do it and keep the car or not?!bss325i wrote:Not a lot but i hope to have it ready for an MOT in Feb.mikeyboy wrote:whats happening with this Barry, iv been off the forum for ages now!

i had so many plans but with work going well i think i could be considering saving for a M3 next year so am a bit lost at the moment. i would love a e30 M3 but i am the guy who would drive it every day. i buy cars to drive them and not to sit around! lol.
"Its a Growing Progress- All Good things come to those who wait!"
Right, finaly got to make a bit of progress with the car today. The tax runs out on my sport the end of jan so it is going to be sorned for a few months while i carry out some upgrades and preperations for the show season this summer (if we have one!). I will also be moving at the end of the month and my new abode has a garage so sport will now be relegated to dry use only etc etc. This leaves me with the need to get the S50 ready to be mot'd by the end of the month so this is what i've be doing today. Basicly i've bled to cooling system, refitted all the switches, cowlings, trim, glove box etc to the dash and put the headlamps and grills on.
When warmed up i toke the car for a short drive (i forgot how quick this thing is!
) to see if all was ok and can report that there was no dramas at all. The brakes are still a little spongy but that and some rear light wiring that need tidying is all thats needed before i get i tested.
Here's a few snaps for you picture junkies.

Even though there is only a couple of things left to do for the mot, there is still quite a bit left to do before i would say it is complete. The list of stuff left to do to make it complete is as follows,
Replace rear H&R 35mm touring springs for saloon springs
Full geometry four wheel alignment check and adjust
Replace drivers door
Paint O/S/F wing and door
Remove pin stripes (and ring sticker on bonet from the touring!)
Paint and fit Hartge bodykit
Fit black headlining
Convert sunroof to electric operation
Fit map light mirror with correct loom
Replace highback with cloth M3 interior
Fit boot trim
February's gonna be busy!

I have all ready put the front roll bar to the middle setting from the hardest setting and repositions the top mounts to negative camber position so i'll do at least one track day so see how this fares.Simon13 wrote:have a play with the springs and roll bar settings and it'll settle into something half respectable in the corners i reckon
Theo suggested coilovers....
...not where i live!
We'll see.Theo325 wrote:If coilovers are a no-no, how about an s14..?
