Just thought I'd put a few pics of my ride up to see what people think. Off hand, one of the only things I want to do is lower it more (not sure how much yet though).

looks good mate... maybe (after the lowering) a kind of treatment for your interior? I can see that the leader has some cracks or it is it only shown like that on the photos?

Thanks everyone.

Yeah the leather is cracked, mainly the drivers seat. I've cleaned the interior up using Autoglym leather cleaner which did remove alot of grime but I didn't think there was much you could do about cracks (apart from re-trim)?

No idea what the front bumper is. I thought it was an Mtech, well that's what the fella who sold it told me said. The side skirts have Mtech stamped on them, so presumed the whole kit was Mtech.

Just ordered a set of KW 60/40 lowering springs from the Ezone shop. Hopefully get them fitted at the weekend. I'll put a few more pics up when I get it done.

Thanks

Wow! Nice ride..... I have a 318i LUX convertible with Grey leather... will post some pics soon.
...Still trying to sort out the mess I made of the bonet - by spilling super glue on it when replacing the badge! :(

How much were your wheels?

Very nice mate, but i am worried once i have my mtec kit our car will look the same.

Leather cracks can be dyed to get them perfect, there is a dude on ebay selling leather dye to fill the cracks have a look that should do it.
Returned after many years out.

ROLSe30 is spot on..set of mint 15" BBS's, keep the ride height the same, it will be very sweet.

Cheers everyone for the comments.

I'm afraid i'm a sucker for big wheels and an uncomfortable ride, (along with poor handling). Plus I've already lowered the front and am planning to drop theback at the weekend.

I'll hang onto the original suspension in case I ever change my mind.

I'll put some more pics up as soon as I get the back lowered, tyres blacked and the car a bit cleaner!

what size wheels and profile tyres do you have?

I was gona get 17's with the lowest profile i can get, and then drop it 60/60 (i like the back wheel to be under the arch)!!

16" wheels 205/50's causes problems on all speedbumps.

Do cab's sit lower than coupe's then???

coz my car is miles of the ground at the moment....

i reckon 60/60 will just about get the top of the 15's i have on at the moment under the arch...

and when i drop some 17's on it, I hope the top lip of the alloy is under the arch!!!

I'm hoping to get hold of a set of RH toplines, and have the lip polished...or chrome the whole wheel

I love RH's and think they're the best wheel for the e30, and I'm relying on a mate to give me a call (and a good price) as soon as he gets hold of a set!!!

Speed-bumps aren't really too much of a problem, but the roads round my area are pretty shite, so will probably be a harsh ride on the stiffened shocks...but i'm used to that from my last car... and most of my journeys are either motorway or dual carriageways, so i should be okay!!!

The car's going for MOT sometime this week, and the outcome will dictate whether it has any money garnished on cosmetics....i can't see there being anything wrong with it, and seen as i need to keep it for 2 years min, and already have people who will buy it off me, touch-wood, as long as there's no mechanical issue's then it will be slowly being turned into a tech2 slammed coupe!!

:D

Wow, this really is THE E30 website. BadBoy4Life - I'll give you a call this afternoon is that's ok.

I think the chap I bought it from (Nottingham) got it from someone in Oxford.

Anyway, here's a few pics of her lowered. The springs are GMAX. Rear 40mm cabriolet 325 springs but the front are 325i E30 60mm springs (non cabriolet I think, found out after fitting them - so it's slammed).

It's a firm ride, and you def feel the pot holes! I guess it's the comp you make when lowering. I really happy with it though. Compared to my Astra GSI (only lowered 40mm) it's comfortable!

Cheers aceraf,

I think the cabriolets come with Mtec suspension which is 150mm lower than norm, but the cabriolets weigh more so the springs need to be a bit tougher to make up for this - hense the front of my now lowered cab sitting slightly lower than a 60mm drop on a cab should be.

I believe if you lower a cabriolet with 60mm cabriolet springs, and lower a coupe with 60mm coupe springs they'd be the same ride hight. :?

I can't see how 60mm can fill this gap

looks alot more than 60mm that gap does!!!

Yeah it would mate, mine was already 1.5cm lower in the first pics coz of the Mtec spring hight, so really it's dropped about 5cm front (coz they're coupe springs on the front) and 2.5cm on the rear.

Yours wouldn't be quite as low at the front but not far off - only about 1cm difference I recon. You'd be suprised!

nice motor mate.

the front is not a mtech 2 bumper or valance, but the side pods and rear bumper are tech 2 items.

the front look almost like a BBS spoiler but i am sure someone will correct me
