12 thou inlet and exhaust cold works best. Setting tappets on a bench is a waste of time. Tight tappets cause all sorts of running issues.
Only ever done this once before on the bronze turd and afterwards I couldn't notice any difference.
However today I thought I'd have a crack at it.
Set them both to 12 thou stone cold as advised and what a difference !
It now idles perfectly



They all seemed very tight but having now adjusted them following the guide in the wiki it is super smooth, no drop off in power at all and most importantly the atrocious lumpy idle is no more

As per usual though I did manage to make one balls up

The other 5 plugs all looked good.
