Hi there,

Hope we are all well?

Ive had a fair few E30's in my time (316, 316i, 316i Lux, 318i, 320i Chromie, 325i Touring) but i always regretted not having a 325i Saloon (i personally love the 4 doors) so have been looking for the right unmolested car for a long time now. It had to be an original 4 door 325i SE Auto for me. I love my cars standard so took a bit of finding.

A few weeks ago i saw my perfect E30 on Gumtree so snapped it up. Im up in Scotland and it was in Portsmouth so took a leap of faith and bought it blind (on the back of some decent photos) and talking at length to the owner over the phone. A bank transfer was done and i had it collected on a transporter. It arrived on Tuesday and I'm utterly delighted, smitten, in love and have found my "keeper" to love and cherish. It will remain totally standard (aside from fitting an alarm /immobiliser and a nicer head unit (i have a new old stock early 90s Kenwood mask auto changer setup to go in) and will just be improved upon over the coming years. Im a fair weather user so it will be tucked up in the garage mostly and will only be used on nice dry spring and summer days and won't be actually used in the wet or salt again. Its in remarkably good condition for an original 121,000 mile car, wee bit of corrosion at the base of each front wing that will get rectified but aside from that is lovely. MOT with no advisories. It has a full history , full bookpack, all keys. Pics (lots of them!!) below. Cant wait till the spring now so i can take her for a spin. That exhaust burble is to die for. Id be interested to hear if anyone knows the car.

Fantastic!! Many thanks all and thats superb news Jim, much appreciated indeed for that - that has massively boosted my confidence in the car. Paul seemed an absolutely smashing chap and i really enjoyed chatting to him on the phone. The car will be absolutely cherished i can assure you.

Great stuff, yes Paul is a good bloke and very knowledgeable. He's had various e30s for years and years also. Glad it went to a good home.

Excellent, his integrity and knowledge certainly came across in our conversations anyway :-) Its always a worry selling a car that its going to get molested and wasted but at least he can rest assured its staying as BMW intended and will be pampered :-) You'll need to let me know if he decides to get another E30 (or may have another already) he sounds like he needs an E30 around!! This ones my keeper for sure, a long term custodian here :-)

Kind Regards

Thanks all, much appreciated indeed. Yes the Awesome Blue Magics will be staying as i love them :-) I always lusted after a certain mis 90s Kenwood Mask auto changer setup back in the day but could never afford it, so have found a new old stock one so will treat the car to it :-) That and a Toad Ai606 Cat1 and I'm done :-) Cant wait to get my 80s tunes on the go, nice 6 cylinder soundtrack amidst wafts of Duran Duran :-)

Thanks Kos, much appreciated indeed for that mate :-) Smitten can't really describe how much i love the wee thing :-) The dealer bits are awesome. Its ironic as my first ever E30, first ever BMW, came from Dick Lovett!! I can still see the rear dealer sticker that i have a photo of somewhere id love to get made up for this car :-)

I am now the custodian of this car, my first e30.
It's currently in at 'autobahn' northampton for a inspection 1 and general check over.
Let's see how we get on.
