Little update of my e30 sport Sort EXTRA ECU STRIPPED OUT
Moderator: martauto
Those are thick layers of filler above the rear arch. I'd also guess that it's been re painted twice already. Looking at the pic of the inside of the rear arch.. well, that happens when people forget that metal always has 2 surfaces that need paint. Out of sight, out of mind .
Its cause of the pour repair before on the inners its just rusted through backwords out.Jarno wrote:Those are thick layers of filler above the rear arch. So instead of fixing it properly just a quick fix each time more bodge and paint.
The welder whos doing the work just refused to patch it up said inners is the only way he will work on it. so while its fully stripped nows the time to do it all i suppose
Corner under the fuse box is the single most shittiest thing to repair if it's properly rusted. And really properly repaired.bodger wrote:id be grinding the paint down under the fusebox area, looks like a good layer of p40 under that paint, good luck with the resto
It doesn't look to bad just the standard of all repair was just to plate over the rust insted of chopping it all out.Jarno wrote:Corner under the fuse box is the single most shittiest thing to repair if it's properly rusted. Mind you im no welder was giving the guy a hand cutting stuff and grinding he has now banned me from these jobs i just take parts of the car now. Best leave it to the professionals.
Well that's the rust complete and the car all loaded back up ready for the body shop fro 3 weeks.
Forgot to take a few pics along the way. Work both rear and outer arches, front floor corners, work in boot, under washer bottle, fuse box,abs unit and the left hand side.
What a task glad its out my hands in the body shop for 3 weeks.Should be all done for me getting back from work then the megga task of getting it all back together.
Its surprising what trim and body kit hides look at the pile of metal that came off the car.

THE ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE
Looks great! Are you doing the engine bay as well?
Awesome.. Now comes the best bit of slowly getting that engine bay looking fresh

haven't seen the car for around 9 weeks since it went back over to the body shop.
Any way looks like the tech one has sold just waiting on collection. This will be going up for sale maybe next weekend the hassle i have had with the auction i don't think i will be going down that route. Certain idiots have two many comments to say.
Will hopefully get the car back Wednesday and going to have a good few days on it.
Have a few new parts to fit and panels to line up its super low owners and 100k on clock. btb, frizt bitzZ exhaust, recaro high backs and m3 rear bench , aircon retro fitted, new tyers wheels just done, top end suspension and stacks more new parts.
I have spent well over 10k on this and a year and a half's work but i need to buy a M3.
What would you guys advertise this for on a classified and on what sites to save the idiots giving me hassle. The car will be fully finished new fogs ect.
Thanks in advance.
Also looking for 2 front suspension caps and a passenger inner sill cover.

Not being funny but you are clearly an intelligent man who knows about cars.h2ggv wrote:haven't seen the car for around 9 weeks since it went back over to the body shop.

You have turned around your sport from its last reincarnation and removed the problematic ECU set up it had.
It is now beautiful and essentially standard.
But I doubt that you are unaware of its value.
It has appreciated a lot since you advertised it a year ago for 6k
But asking the forum will probably generate answers you do not wish to see and may lead to disagreements
Its going on a classified add the ecu set up still is fitted to the car i have a full loom inlet ecu everything to change back if wanted but i like the power.senna wrote:Not being funny but you are clearly an intelligent man who knows about cars.h2ggv wrote:haven't seen the car for around 9 weeks since it went back over to the body shop.

And as for value i don't know i know its going to be more than the 6k i wanted a year ago but i cant see nowhere near 15k. Ebay auction is the only way but i simply cant handle the hassle. Thats why i asked

Take this advice
forget ebay etc etc , you're wasting your time
Put a good advert in the classic car press and on pistonheads.
Hold out for a decent ££££
This:
http://www.classicandsportscar-magazine ... lsrc=aw.ds
The best classic cars in the world are advertised here. You're pristine 325i sport would look good with a decent advert in here....and also look good value.
It's the only way.
There is another world of high net worth individuals who buy and sell expensive cars all the time, it's the polar opposite to ebay or e30zone classifieds. The cars are getting more desirable so people would seriously think about adding one to a collection.
You need to think like you're in their world and forget listing on here, facebook, ebay etc etc

Very nice car. Lucky buyer.

Lovely looking car.
I do smile when people gulp at selling prices, but at the end of the day you have two options.
Spend 8k on something that looks pretty but hides horrors. (Then costs 6k to sort).
Or spend 15k on a car that's been sorted. Unfortunately people think a car can be stripped, welded and re sprayed for £1500. (Based on 99% of phone calls I get)!

I'd listen to jimbom,
Do not let this on eBay etc ,
There's too many drug dealing puppy farming scum bags out there that would love to get their hands on a "sport bruv"
Price it out of their reach and see how it goes in classic and sports.
All the best with the sale, beautifully example.
p.s who did your plates and stickers?
