Well I've been a bit of a busy boy today as these finally arrived 8)

Image
Image

Now I was planning to wait until I had some fresh shocks to go with these my impatience decided otherwise :o:
Plus I wanted to see how much it would actually drop the car by.

So I got to work removing and replacing the springs:
Image

The size difference!
Image

Image

Then I moved onto the fronts, don't forget I had the tech II springs on the front after I changed the engine, this is the size difference of the springs

Image

Image

Image

and the end result (and it hasn't completely settled yet) 8)

Image

Image

I took her for a nice drive and what a difference just the springs have made! Even the braking felt more responsive! Can't wait to get myself some shocks now!

The time had finally come to sort out the very neglected Borbet A's :o:

I knew they needed tyres from the day I bought them as the guy who had them before must have had his car slammed to a serious level to get them to this state! 8O

Image

Image

Image

Then I got started with the clean up!
Image

Before (on the right) and After
Image

Fresh Tyres

Image

Image

Replaced the badges to BMW ones 8)
Image

Image

Image

Tried them on the car..It would need to settle me thinks winkeye

Thanx man! :)

Lower would probably suit these wheels better but like I said before I want to keep my sump where it is lol Plus the way its sitting atm is perfect for an E30 if you ask me.

I want to leave the Borbets on for a while to see how much it settles with them on there then make a decision if ill keep them or not..

Not wanting to knock a great car like yours but is the rear camber ok on your car? The rear looks like its not right and looks like it has lots of positive camber? Or is it the camera shot?

I hope its my eyes?

Not knocking it at all mate, I welcome any questions etc :D

I'm assuming you mean the pics with the borbets on - I lowered the car down with the handbrake still on and it didn't move or settle into place..

I realised after I put the bbs' back on :o:

I will get more pics when its all settled in and it should be good from there :thumb:

I am planning a full rear end overhaul soon (god help me :chuckle: ) as the bushes are looking a little tired back there..but all in good time 8)

Meyle are very good, the HD is the one you want, but i'm not sure, or haven't seen any engine mounts from them.
I have seen G/box mounts, but only in the US.

Bit of an update peeps!

Had a bit of an up and down day:

Firstly I received my strut brace and first problem was the clutch reservoir being in the way so I relocated it.
Image

Then I tried to fit the strut brace and this is what I'm left with :?
Image
Image

One side will fit fine and the other side looks too short! :?

Now someone tell me if I'm being stupid or if I'm going insane please lol

Is the strut brace the wrong size?

Has the turrets moved apart from age?

Best part of the day was fitting this bad boy 8)
Image
Image

Getting it on was a bit of a pain in the arse and I ended up damaging the interior panels a bit as i think they have bowed with age :(

So I may eventually get the panels re leathered or get new panels altogether.

It was amazing driving on the motorway and not feeling like I was in a wind tunnel though! If you have a cabby you NEED one of these! Amazing!

I bought a GCFabrications one..its in this thread :
http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... c&t=262512

I must be the only person who actually prefers cloth seats over leather imy! :o: It feels so much more comfortable unless the leather has been redone..

I'm actually considering leathering the bolsters and leaving the middle cloth! We will see 8)

Well Im pleased to announce that after a lot of Swearing, Sweating, jacking, and pulling i finally managed to get it to fit! Also fitted the new wiring cover I bought from Mick 8)

Much cleaner engine bay now!

I fitted my borbets (Not everyone's cup of Tea but I love them  ) and went for a drive:

Image

Image

and I can confirm it has tightened the steering up BIGTIME!! 8O It feels so much more responsive, I'm pretty certain the low profile +16's helped also as i have been driving around with the 14inch BBS with the balloon tyres since i did the conversion
I can't wait to get the Clubsport rack on their now :o:

Thanks for everyones input! :thumb:
