6 Years on since my last E30 I have bought this:

Every panel has a few scratches or dents. Electric roof doesn't work, glovebox and bracket broken, Water pump on it's last legs, Washer pump in-operative, rear lights broken, badly repaired rear arches and seats are either ripped or torn. Probably loads more I can't think of. But no rust and only two owners (mother and son).

Cost me £650. Hoping to make a decent car out of this, am I mad

It's a proper (post facelift) cab. in a decent colour. Water pump, washer pump, rear light and glovebox are just minor details and a couple of hours work robbing a scrapper.
Electric roof not working is par for the course, and the procedure is well documented, and the seats would be better as leather anyway.
If the rust isn't too bad, the roof fabric is serviceable, and the scratches/dents are minor, you have a bargain. Not the greatest bargain ever, but a bargain all the same.

Monthly update fixed so far

2 Window switches, stripped, cleaned and center metal connector adjusted to take up the slack and provide a better connection. Hope it lasts.

Changed plugs and cambelt

Changed waterpump, it was a bitch. Took 2 hours just to get the pump out :x

Fitted an E46 interior mirror

Purchased a E46 steering rack. It states on the ad 6755067 which is the clubsport rack part number but it turns out to be a normal rack. It was only £30 posted, should I be upset ask for a refund and try to buy the correct clubsport rack or just keep this and be happy it was cheap?

Water in the front footwell
Image
Water in the rear
Image
Carpet split from backing
Image
I press down on the plug and it oozes a bit of water
Image
Image
This doesn't look like standard stuff. It was wet, could this be blocking one of the drains and causing the water leak?
Image

This car is filthy
Image
Absolutly awful, how does this get so dirty under the center console.
Image
It's dirty even under the carpet :wtf:
Image
I pulled the rear heating tubes out and they were full of stones
Image
After lots of vacuuming and wire brushing
Image

Next up, how do I get this crap out without stripping the seat??
Image

Then strip and clean this out
Image

The water in the front foot well was foamy which I guess was from when I washed the car. The water in the rear wasn't the same, it seemed more like rain water. I have put some water over the car with a hose but can't find the leak. Not a drop in the car. What can I do?

What can I do about the leaking plug? Can water be coming in this way?

Could the wadding in the speaker hole be causing the water leak

Water in the rear might be this: http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... drain+hood

Quite likely considering how filthy the car is!
