Look for a big "S" on it or an S on the diff tag (a serial number).

I was always under the impression that if you rotated one rear wheel by hand, and the other wheel on the same axle rotated in the same same direction, it was an lsd. Thats what mine does, anyway. Im sure someone else will correct me if Im wrong

it will be a 4.10 open.
look for a tag on the back plate, undo the bolt it's held on by clean it it up and hope it starts with an 'S'.

Normally you don't need to put an e30 on a ramp to see if it's got an LSD or not.
Does the inner wheel spin up if your a bit enthusiastic leaving a junction?

Another test is to get one wheel on a loose surface like gravel or grass and the other wheel on the tarmac then pull off sharpish.
If you go nowhere with the loose surface wheel spinning its an open, if you fly forward its a slipper.
