Seen this on Copart last week and thought it would be a nice buy:

Its a 318i automatic in Bronzit, has 69k on the clock, its a Cat D but is very clean!! The damage caused was the scrap on the bonnet and wing. The replacement bonnet i have bought and should get on tuesday. The wing is clean apart from the top but i need to take it off to see if there is any rust at the bottom. The driver's wing has rotted so might get that replaced. There is a couple of bits slight scabbing but nothing that would cause concern.

I gave it a clean and changed the wheels for some bottle tops:

Will let you know how it goes.

Costco jack FTW.

I love that havana brown trim with brown carpet I think I have lost the plot :(

You certainly are addicted!

Well, i think a update is well overdue, especially with me trying to sell the car now. Guess i got a lot to fill you in on so here goes.

I managed to find a bonnet in the same colour that was off a C reg car, it said in the advert that it was clean and i spoke to the guy and he said that it would go straight on. So when i got it, i unwrapped it and got it fitted:

The bonnet looked nice from a distance but it wasnt as nice as the seller made out but it'll do as i said to myself. I decided to take both wings off to see how bad they both were and see if i could get away with rewelding the top half of the damaged wing. But upon inspection both wings were rotten at the bottom:

And to make it worse, the drivers footwell was rotten too which i wasnt too impressed with either. It only took Alex a few hours to do but it was needed:

I got the new wings and i had Alex weld the cut off from the new wing to the original which he done really well but with all the hassle I would have just painted the new wing and fitted as it was:

Once i got it all fillered and primered, i got a few rattle cans made up and went out painting them:

Once i painted the wings and fitted them back on the car, the colour match was totally off, the new paint was a shade darker. Really annoyed so i took it to my mates and let his sprayer have a go. He did have a go, and another and then i got it back after a month. The colour was the same as i did which pissed me off even more!! So i gave it back to him and took him another 3 months to get it sorted!!:

It took his new sprayer 2 attempts to get it colour matched but the job wasnt the best so i took it back and learnt my lesson not to take my cars to him any more.

I put all the trim back and put it in for an MOT, it failed on a missing side repeater and low brake fluid, which was easily rectified. As i test drove the car i noticed the car wasnt sounding right so i popped the bonnet and did the carrot test and the viscous was faulty. A call to Euro and £15 later it was fixed.

So after a good clean here it is, ready to be sold to its new owner:

Get it bought needs an M42 transplant from that car you've been hiding for the last couple of years! That would make a great useable daily :)

If there was ever the right owner for a car, you are it! Just bolt in your new running gear and get out and enjoy it 8)

Cheers, would be nice to see it go to a fellow Zoner.

I would get one if i was keeping it, but the new owner can do that.

I agree lol

An M42 transplant would be ideal, put some 15's on it and lowered. Nice little sleeper.
