Break it for morsels - add value to my e30 at the same time. Everyone's a winner

I'll check with the manager
Jim, I still think the best option is just drop another donk in. This car is never going to be worth much and certainly isn't worthy of an engine rebuild. Also it's very unlikely you're ever going to sell it whole so matching numbers mean jack shit! Just get it running and driving ok and smoke it until a nice chromie comes along, unless of course you can't bring yourself to return to scum class

Kedge, you are correct... I should drop another donk In. It will be loads easier than rebuilding this one. The cost will be cheaper too. I have that chromie 325 engine so will get that running hopefully and see how that is.
I'll get some more pictures later, more of the suspension too

The chromie will be on M1.0 and the Sport on M1.3. It's an easy loom swap and a few other bits on the engine.

Ahhh yea, Jims suspension will be perfect for him then since he can't drive a car anywhere as it is!DanThe wrote:No wait a minute, you havnt stated verde doesnt own a driving licenceKedge wrote:

I drove it everywhere. Went over speed bumps in it fine. Was usually just the front bumper that scraped. Just that jims yard isn't exactly a smooth surface is it? HahaKedge wrote:Only thing that's surprising about this sorry turd is it didn't come from Birmingham!!

When you're just turning it round and can feel through the whole car that it's bottomed out and then you look at the suspension and can see that the springs are a 100% compressed there is something badly wrong. Either the wrong springs used or something has collapsed. Either way with the suspension as it is I wouldn't consider this car safe for the road as it's not able to anything that suspension should!lukec88 wrote:I drove it everywhere. How many times did you smash the sump? Looking underneath you can see that exhaust brackets and anything else at around sump level have been ground away.
sounds like it's only missing a welded diff for the fooked drive-ability high score!
if you think it's worth turning around then go for it . i'll offer half of what you paid now to save disappointment later on

@ Jim, I take back my comment about matching engine numbers if it's missing metal underneath from road rash!! Just sort the susp. out, drop a lump in there and enjoy driving it about

Pete...
Mike, your bodyguy is a coont if it was only done 2-3 years ago, and your modding isnt cool
Body condition, as in rusty hidden parts, its got scabs but its also seen a welder, rear arches behind the door cards have seen action, but the inner part of the sills still look a bit cruddy. Scuttles are the worse, but compaired to the majority of scrap on the zone, this isnt too bad on the rust side.
Like Mike said though, its been used and abused for the last 4 years, thats a dead cert. Will it be a mint show car like every other n0bcheese on here? Nope, it will be tidied up and used, I wont rag the crap out of it. I wont be going sideways. It will be used when I need to go to the shops and thats about it. I wont claim its the greatest and it doesnt have issues like others either
